Best of 2012

Today I wanted to share with you my top 10 products from this year. I posted a video of this on my channel yesterday but in case you prefer to read about it I'm doing a post on it. I will also add the video at the bottom of this post.

Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser
I discovered this near the end of the year but because it is so amazing I still wanted to include it in my favourites. I use this to remove my makeup at night and it leaves my skin feeling really soft and it gets rid of my makeup even waterproof mascara.

Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz
I bought this in the summer and I think it is more of a summer product than a winter product. It is really refreshing and is really nice to use when the weather is warmer. It removes anything that the cleanser has missed and it has quite a nice smell.

Technic Nail Polish Carnival
I love this glitter nail polish it is packed with lots of different colours of glitter. I have mainly used this as a top coat and have used it in quite a few NOTDs which you can see here  and here.

Essie Navigate Her
I have discovered the brand Essie this year and I have tried some of their polishes and love them all but I picked out my favourite colour which is Navigate Her. It is a lovely green colour. I got all my Essie polishes from Fragrance Direct as they are only £1.99 you can see the post I did about them here.

MUA Mosaic Blush English Rose
This was my first blush that I bought because I am pale I didn't think blushes would suit me but this one changed my opinion. This provides a nice pink glow to the cheeks and I really love it.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation
I love this foundation because it blends in really well and it has a pump which I really like as it is easy to get the product out. The packaging is really nice as well with it's bright orange lid and glass bottle it stands out from any other foundation.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer
I love this concealer it can be used on blemishes and under the eyes. It works amazingly with the foundation and it creates a flawless makeup look that I love.

Revlon Lip Butter Strawberry Shortcake
I love the Lip Butters and this was my favourite shade. It is a really nice pink colour and it is a very good everyday lipstick. These are really moisturising and the packaging is really cute.

Revlon Kissable Balm Stain Cherish
I love this it lasts a long time and is really moisturising. The colour is really nice and goes really well with pretty much any outfit. I love the fact that when this fades away it doesn't go all patchy like some other lip products.

MUA Undressed Palette
I love this palette it is probably one of my favourite palettes of all time. All the shades are really pigmented and long wearing. My favourite shades are 2, 4 and 9 as I wear these the most often.

Simply Pure Cleansing Face Mask Review

I picked this up in Superdrug a few weeks ago and I wanted to share my thoughts on it with you. The simply pure range is a Superdrug own range and it is aimed at people with sensitive skin. It is fragrance free, paraben free and they don't test on animals. This product spreads out easily on the face and you don't need a lot of it to cover the whole face. I think this is much better value for money compared to the sachets which you only get one use from. With this you will get quite a few uses and I only use it once a week so it should last quite awhile.
After using this I can see a huge difference in my skin it feels much softer and it does provide a clearer skin. I recommend this face mask as it is very affordable (not sure of the exact price but it is under £3) and it does a really great job. I think I am going to try some other products from this range as this is really nice.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer Review

I've had this for a few months now and I completely forgot to review it for you (whoops). I haven't seen many reviews of this so I wanted to share it with you. Earlier this year bloggers and youtubers went crazy for the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation which I reviewed here. When I went to Superdrug to pick up a new concealer I was going to try the Collection one but then I saw this and got it instead because I loved the foundation so much that I was sure I was going to like this. Also I think this was on offer and was either cheaper or the same price as the Collection one. The concealer is normally £5.49 but it is quite often on offer.

I love this concealer it covers under eye circles and blemishes really well. This concealer is so creamy and easy to blend. Also it is very long lasting it lasts pretty much all day which is fantastic. It says that it is Rimmel's first full coverage concealer and I agree that his is full coverage. The application is really easy it had a doe foot wand applicator which makes it quick and easy to apply.

It is available in 3 shades and I'm in the shade Ivory. Just like the foundation it has anti fatigue effects in it which makes item perfect for under the eyes. I love the packaging of this with its bright orange lid.

Have you tried this concealer?

NOTD- Magnetic Green Sparkle

I wanted to share with you what I have currently on my nails. I think it is a very festive colour and it looks really nice on the nails. It is one of Barry M's magnetic polishes. I have 3 of them the purple one, the gold one and the green one. I chose to wear the green one as it is a perfect Christmas colour. This is quite a nice polish although it is a bit fiddly to use the magnet each time. I like the effect it creates on my nails but you have to have a lot of time to paint your nails as you have to paint each nail twice but you have to use the magnet immediately after painting. They have chipped quite easily which is a shame because Barry M nail polishes are usually quite good. I think the magnetic nail polishes are more of an evening nail polishes rather than one to wear over a few days.

Witch Blemish Stick Review

This contains witch hazel which is used to combat acne skin and it is used in a lot of skincare products. The product itself is blue but when you apply it it comes out clear. It has quite a strong smell but that fades away almost as soon as you apply it. Like a lip balm you can apply it throughout the day and it is a nice size so will easily fit in your handbag. The only problem I have with this product is that you have to push the product up from underneath and to get it back down you need to push it with your hands. I think a if it was a twist one like most lip balms are then it would be better.

As for the actual product it works really well. When I put it on spots it tingles which I take as a good think because it means it is working and it does. The spots to down much quicker when I use this and if I feel like there is one about to appear and I put it on then it doesn't actually appear which is fantastic. I love how I can apply this throughout the day and that it actually works.

Have you tried this?

Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

A few months ago everyone was raving about the Liz Earle hotcloth cleanser but being about £14 I knew I wouldn’t be able to afford it. Butwhen I was in Superdrug I saw the Vitamin E hot cloth cleanser and thought thatI would give that a go instead.
I use this to take off my makeup at night. I rub some intomy face and then rinse it off with hot water and the muslin cloth that comeswith it.
It removes makeup up really well even waterproof mascara. Ireally like the smell of this and you don’t need to use a lot of the product. The muslin cloth also provides a little exfoliation for your skin it isn’t tooharsh so you can use the product every day.
I noticed a difference in my skin straight away. I reallyenjoy using this product and it is a fraction of the price of the Liz Earleone. This is usually £5.99 but when I bought it it was only £3.99.

Products I've Used Up #4

I love the Garnier deodorants as they work so well. They last all day and smell quite nice. This is the only brand of deodorant that I have that works for me.
Would I repurchase? Yes

I have so many of these and I am trying to use them all up. This wasn't one of my favourite scents. It was ok but some of the other scents are much better my favourite is Very Pink.
Would I repurchase? No

Simple face wipes £2
I don’t use wipes every day I only use them when I am feeling really lazy and just can’t be bothered. I also use them if I make a mistake with my makeup as the wipes remove makeup quite well. For me wipes area bit like shampoo I just buy whatever is on offer.
Would I repurchase? Yes (depending on what was on offer)

I didn't particularly like this I didn't think it did much for my hair. The bottle claims to make hair shiny and soft but it didn't really do that. I don’t know if it’s because I have quite thick hair or what but it really didn't work. I did like the smell however and I like other L’Oreal shampoos but not this one.
Would I repurchase? No
I loved this it smelt so good. I love the Treacle Moon range all the products smell really nice. This bottle lasted me a very long time. I bought it at the start of July and I have used it most times I've been in  the shower or bath so it is well worth the money  I've currently got the warm cinnamon nights one which I did a post on here.
Would I repurchase? Yes
I was so sad when I finished this as it was such a nice scrub. I did a full review of it here.I really liked this and the only thing stopping me from going out and getting it again is the price £7 seems a lot of money to me so I will probably buy this as a treat.
Would I repurchase? Yes (as a treat)
I really like this it smells really nice and it protects my hair  I don’t use a lot of heat on my hair but when I do I always use this. It doesn’t weigh down my hair like some other products do.
Would I repurchase? Yes

W7 massive lashes mascara
I got this in a discount makeup shop for 99p. I really liked using this mascara. You could wear it so your lashes were quite natural looking or you could build it up so they had more volume. I don’t know where I will be able to get this from but I would love to repurchase it
Would I repurchase? Yes

Tresemme shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment sample
I got these samples in an issue of Marie Claire you can see the post here. I quite liked the shampoo and conditioner but I only got one use out of them so I don’t know how good they really are. I did like the leave in treatment though and I went out and bought it. I will probably buy the shampoo and conditioner as well to give them a proper try.
Would I repurchase? Yes

L’Oreal nude magique sample
I got this sample with the free gift that I got a few months ago which I did a post about here. This was awful when I applied it it was really cakey and felt horrible on my skin. Also it made my face extremely orange so I had to take it off immediately. The full size is £9.99 which I won’t be spending for such a terrible product.
Would I repurchase? No

Hope you guys enjoyed the post

Guest Post: Cozy and Colorful Winter Accessories: My Four Favorite Staples

Getting out my winter wardrobe is one of my favourite times of the year because I get to rediscover those fashion accessories that I haven't had a chance to wear since the leaves started peeking out of trees last spring. And of course, I always take some time to fill out my wardrobe with a few more pieces that bring in this season's colours and trends. There are four kinds of accessories I really couldn't live without during the winter months!
1. Huge Scarves
Some girls go for those little scarves that feel like there's nothing around your neck, but I go to the other extreme. The more fabric the better, although I do have a few lighter ones for warmer, not-quite-winter days. With so many different ways to tie a scarf, I can find a cute way to wear one with just about every outfit. And I've also been known to use my scarves as a wrap when my shoulders and arms get a little chilly!

2. Brightly Coloured Tights
I tend to stick to muted colours in my wardrobe, but I go a little crazy when it comes to footed tights. I have them in just about every colour of the rainbow, and even if people aren't going to see more than a few inches of them, I'm almost always wearing a pair. That splash of colour is unexpected and can make an outfit so much more interesting.

3. Boots, Boots, and More Boots
I can't remember a single day last winter when I didn't wear boots. They're so versatile, and now that I've built up a collection of more pairs than I care to admit, I have boots to match any outfit I want to wear. Whether I need to dress an outfit up or down, there's a pair of boots that does the trick. Plus, I hate having cold ankles during the winter, and boots are my saving grace.

4. Cute Hats and Earmuffs
I also hate it when my ears are cold, but since I live in the city I do a lot of walking outside during the day. That's why adorable hats and earmuffs are absolutely essential for me during the winter. I love that I can toss on a pair of earmuffs without worrying about messing up my hair. My favourite pair has headphones built in so I can listen to tunes, too. When I know I'll be out for a while, I opt for a cozy knit hat instead to keep my whole head warm.
With these four awesome accessories, I can turn just about any plain outfit into something stylish and cozy. I also love how I can get away with wearing the same basic clothes on a pretty tight rotation because mixing and matching accessories changes up the look so much. Plus, my friends and family all know what to get me for Christmas.

Warm Cinnamon Nights

I thought I would share this amazing product with you in case your not already in the mood for Christmas this will defiantly get you into the spirit. It is a shower gel and bubble bath from Treacle Moon which you can purchase in Tesco. I love the whole range they do shower gels and bubble baths, body scrubs and body butters in lots of different scents. They released this of Christmas and is available for a limited time only. I love the smell of this and it makes me feel very festive. I love using this as a shower gel and as a bubble bath it is so good. I recommend that you go out and try this before it isn't on sale any more.

Have you tried anything from Treacle Moon?

Soap and Glory Scrub Of Your Life Review

I included this in my November favourites and I thought I would do a review of it. I really love this scrub and I think it has slightly overtaken the Lush scrub which I reviewed here. I love the formula of this as it does a really good job of scrubbing the body but it isn't too harsh either. The reasons why I prefer this to the Lush one is that this one has a really nice smell and you don't have to use it up in 2 weeks. I felt with the Lush one that because it had a short expiry date I think I wasted some because I wanted to use within that date. I like this scrub because unlike the Treacle Moon ones that I have tried it doesn't leave bits at the bottom of the bath/shower. The only drawback of the product is the price it is £7.50 for a full size bottle I only have the travel size at the moment. I will repurchase but probably as a treat rather than one I will buy all the time.

What is your favourite soap and glory product?

Beauty UK Earth Child Palette Review

I got this palette back in the summer, I love neutral colours and this palette offers something different as it isn't just a brown palette. It offers other colours such as greens and silvers and a black. This palette is only £3.99 and it has 10 colours in it. All the colours in this are really pigmented and last all day. There is very little fallout either which is really good. This palette is a really good size and makes it perfect for travelling. I love the texture of these eyeshadows they are really easy to blend and you can create so many looks with it.

MUA Mosaic Blush English Rose Review

I got this blush quite a few months ago and I included it in a favourites but I haven't done a full review on it yet so I thought I would do one for you. Until I got this I had never used a blush before being quite pale I found blushes a little scary as I thought they would look stupid on my pale skin but after trying this blush my entire opinion has changed.

I picked up the MUA blush in English Rose it is a mosaic blush and has lots of colours in it. When you put it on the cheeks it creates a nice light pink glow. I love wearing this blush and wear it nearly everyday. It has even made me want to find other blushes that are quite light colours and not took bright.

I love the packaging of this it is very sleek and professional looking. It only cost £2.50 which is a great bargain.

Hope you enjoyed this post

November Favourites

Body Shop lip butter
I love this it smells of chocolate and it deeply moisturises my lips I enjoy using this after I have used my lip scrub. I think this is one of the nicest smelling lip products I own.

L'octaine hand cream
This hand cream is perfect for the winter it is quite thick and rich which means its great for dry hands which I get in the winter. It also smells amazing and the smell lingers on your hands.

Balance me moisturiser
I have already mentioned on my blog this week how much I love this product as I did a full review of it here. This is the perfect moisturiser for winter and leaves my skin feeling moisturised for hours.

Body shop Love etc.
This perfume smells amazing and it lasts all day. I have been wearing most days this month and I think it is perfect for all year round and is a very good everyday perfume

Soap and glory the scrub of your life
I loved this it smells amazing and does a really good job when I mentioned the Rub Rub Rub scrub from Lush and said that it was one of the best I think because this one has such a nice smell that it has just topped it.

Hope you enjoyed my favourites what have you been loving this month?

Balance Me Moisturiser Review

I got this sample of the Balance Me facial moisturiser in Glamour magazine a few months ago. I started using this at the beginning of the month because I went on holiday and it was the perfect size to take with me.

I love this moisturiser it leaves my skin feeling really moisturised and it is perfect for the winter months now it is colder. You don't need to use a lot of this which means it has lasted quite awhile. It sinks in really quickly which means it is great to use in the morning. It does have quite a strong smell which I like but I can imagine that some people would find it too strong. I also like the fact that it is 99% natural as well this means that it is really good for the skin. This is very much a luxury product a 50ml bottle is £24 so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this as it is quite expensive but if I had the money I would.

Hope you enjoyed this post

NOTD Tuscan Sun

I picked this up in Poundland a few weeks ago. I love the colour of this I think it is perfect for the autumn. I love the formulation of this I only needed to 2 coats for it to become opaque. It lasted nearly a week before I changed it. I'm really glad that I picked this colour up.

Products I've used up #3

Imperial leather hand wash £2
I bought this in Tesco when it was offer. The main reason I bought it was because it was vanilla scented unfortunately the scent wasn't what I thought it would be. It was a nice smell but it didn't really smell of vanilla which was slightly disappointing. This bottle lasted a very long time which is quite good as the one I have at the moment doesn't seem to be lasting that long.
Would I repurchase? No

Macleans toothpaste £2.13
As with shampoo I buy toothpaste when it is on offer, I don't really stick to any particular brand but I always get a whitening one. I like this toothpaste and Macleans is one of my favourite brands as they actually seem to work. I can see a difference in the whiteness of my teeth when I use this.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Oral B toothpaste £3.49
I got this little sample free in Cosmopolitan magazine a few months ago, I took this away on holiday as it was a really handy size. I really liked this as although it was only a small size I could definitely see a difference. Also it was purple which I though was quite cool.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Veet shower removal cream £6.85
I bought this as I thought it would be easier to use than shaving, however I did not particularly like this. It smells horrible and I did not enjoy applying it. You have to apply it before you go on the shower and you need to wait a few minutes before going in the shower. I found that a lot of it washed away. I does work but you need to have quite long hairs for it to work. It says that it works on short hair but I disagree with that.
Would I repurchase? No

Herbal essence hair mask £4.39
Hair care is not something I know a lot about, but I've read a few blog posts about it and I knew I wanted to try a hair mask. Hair masks can be quite expensive and this was one of the cheaper ones. I have used shampoo and conditioner from the herbal essences range so I decided to get this one. I liked the smell of this and after I used it I could see a difference in my hair however I didn't notice a difference in split ends so I have bought one that is specifically amied at split ends. I did really like those product as it smells really nice and it is really affordable.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Crabtree and Evelyn La source shampoo and conditioner £4
I had these two samples lying at the back of my cupboard for quite sometime and when I wnet away I decided to use them up. They were ok but they didn't smell that nice and they didn't clean my hair that well.
Would I repurchase? No

Pantene shampoo and conditioner £4.69
I love Pantene shampoo they smell amazing and they make my hair look and feel really good. I loved using this shampoo as it did exactly what it said it did create total fullness to my hair.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Lush rub rub rub scrub £7.95
I loved this body scrub it did such a good job. This was probably one of the best scubs I have ever used. I did a full review of it here.
Would I repurchase? Yes

November Magazine Freebies

This month Marie Claire and Glamour are giving away some great freebies. Marie Claire are giving away Jemma Kidd products the Idefine mascara and the Instant Lift Skin Perfection primer. I choose to get the mascara( not that I need anymore) this is quite a nice mascara it doesn't clump and it does volumises my lashes.

Glamour had free Nails Inc Polishes they had 4 to choose from St James, Motcomb Street, Elizabeth Street and Glamour Glitter. I picked up Elizabeth Street and Glamour Glitter as I already have a lot of reds and I didn't like the look of Motcomb Street. The magazine retails at £2 and the nail polishes are usually £11 which is such a fantastic bargain.

Have you picked up any freebies this month?

Haul

This is quite late but this is the haul from when I went away.

The Body Shop
When I was away there was an outlet store and it had 30% off if you bought 3 items and 40% if you bought 4. I picked up 3 items as I couldn't find anything else I wanted or more importantly needed. I got the Love Etc spray and shower gel set as I had heard so many good things about it and it smelt amazing. I also picked up the chocolate lip butter this smells amazing and it is so lovely to use in the lips. I picked up this bag of fruity soaps as I thought it would make an excellent Christmas present and even if I don't give it as a Christmas present I can use it. With the 30% all of this came to only £10.40 the Love Etc was meant to be £10 so it was quite a bargain.

Nail Polishes
I went a bit nail polish mad and ended up buying so many. I picked up 2 sets from Primark as they were only £2 and they will make good presents. I picked up 3 Revlon ones from Poundland Tuscan Sun, Demure and Blue Lagoon. I also picked up 2 colours from MUA Pistachio Ice Cream and Frozen Yoghurt. I had been looking for Pistachio Ice Cream for quite a while every Superdrug I went in was sold out so I was very happy when I found it.

Jewellery
I picked up a few things from Dorothy Perkins I love there jewellery they are so pretty and are usually really affordable. I picked up a rabbit ring which was only £1 and the cameo necklace was only £2. I also picked up a mint green ring from Primark which was only £1.

I think I was quite good whilst away as I didn't buy too much.

Hope you enjoyed this post

MUA Trio Review

I love the concept of these as they have just 3 colours so there aren't too many to choose from but you can create so many different looks with them. I have 2 to share with you today.

Chocolate box
I love this it is perfect for me as it is just neutral shades and they are all browns. I find that with the Undressed palette I don't use some of the darker colours that aren't brown. All the colours in this are highly pigmented and are the same usual high quality of MUA's eyeshadows. I find the trios great for travelling as they don't take up too much space in your makeup bag. I find myself reaching for this quite a lot.

Pink Sorbet
I heard about this specific one via YouTube and I fell in love with the colours that I knew I had to have it. These colours are very different from the colours that I own as I own a lot of brown colours. These are pretty pinks but they aren't too bright which I like as I don't like wearing brightly coloured eyeshadows. The colours in this are very pigmented and create a nice shimmery look on the eye.

These retail at £2.50 and you can get them from the MUA website or Superdrug.

Have you tried any of the trios?

Beauty Bloggers Tag

This tag was created by Sophia from Tattoedtealady and I thought I'd give it a go this tag is aimed at beauty bloggers in particular. Don't forget to check out Sophia's blog it is a great read her reviews are especially good.

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
It was because I started beauty videos on YouTube and then when they started mentioning blogs and went and read them and I enjoyed reading them. With YouTube videos you sometimes have to set aside 10-15 minutes to watch them but you can spend about 5 minutes reading blogs which is better for me as I never seem to have much time. I started blogging earlier this year in April I am surprised by the response to my blog I know a lot of bloggers say this but I didn't expect people to read my blog especially when you look at some other bloggers who have been blogging for years.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
Like I said I discovered blogging because of YouTube so the blogs that I read first where from some of the 'bigger' bloggers.
Zoella
Sprinkle Of Glitter
Fluer De Force
Essiebutton

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?
It was either the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation or the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains. I think that the Kissable Balm Stains are slightly better than the Lip Butters although I didn't buy mine as I won it in a giveaway.

What are your favourite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
I love meeting new people this had been helped by Twitter. I've met quite a few people and I would class them as my friends even thou I've never met them. I talk to them regularly and it is really nice to be able to talk to people who have the same interests as you.
Linked to that is comments I love replying to comments and I will always set time aside to reply. I think it is important to reply to comments especially when people have asked you questions as you can build a relationship with your readers.
Discovering new products I have discovered so many new products through blogging that I probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Also if I want to buy a product I will check other bloggers reviews of it first to see if it is with buying.
Taking photos I know this sounds a bit silly but I really enjoy taking the photos for my blog. I have learnt so much about taking photos through blogging and I hope that my photo taking skills have improved.
I love thinking of posts to do I usually spend the weekend thinking of what posts to do during the week and I write a lot of them at the weekend as well as I don't always have the time to do it during the week.

What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
I've learnt a lot about taking photos and what qualifies as a good or bad photo. I've also learnt that just because a product is hyped up does not always mean its going to be good.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
I think I have when I started blogging I didn't know much about how to apply makeup. Through blogging I have found out about different ways to apply makeup and I have used this skills to make my makeup look better.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
I'd say set up a Twitter account and take part in the #bbloggers chats each week. They are great fun you learn new things and you get to meet new people. Also take part in blog hops they are a great way to find new blogs and gain new followers.

Name your top five brands!

Makeup Inspired By Bella Thorne

So I saw this picture of Bella Thorne and I loved her makeup look so thought I'd have a go at recreating it.

Face
I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer which in my opinion is one of the best concealers out there. I then used the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation which I love. It works really well with the concealer as well. I then used the MUA Pressed Powder to finish it off. Bella has quite a natural look in this picture and doesn't use too much makeup.

Eyes

It's difficult to see the eye makeup but on the lips I went for a light shimmery colour. I used shade 1 from the Undressed palette as a base. I then used the lightest pink shade from the Pink Sorbet trio all over my lid. I then used shade 7 from the Going For Gold palette on my water line. I then used the Jemma Kidd Idefine mascara that I got in the latest issue of Marie Claire.

Lips
She has quite shimmery pink lips in the picture so I used ELFs Glitter Gloss in Twinkle Pink all over my lips.

Hair
For my hair I didn't do too much I tied it in a side ponytail and put a silver flier clip on it. The clip was from Tesco but you can buy them pretty much anywhere.

Please excuse the horrible picture
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you want to see any specific celebrities then please feel free to send me a picture.
