OOTD- Time To Celebrate

As you probably all know yesterday was GCSE results day and I was one of those people who had to wake up early and collect their results. I had been so nervous about my results that I am just so glad that the wait is all over. One of the main reasons that I was worrying is because the school that I want to go to for 6th form has very high entrance requirements so I was so happy when I found out I had 3As and 6Bs. Now it’s time to celebrate and I can finally get a good nights sleep. So I thought I’d share with you what I wore out to meal with my family to celebrate my results.

The dress is from Yumi I got this dress in the sale whilst I was on holiday. It was meant to be £50 but I got if for £5 (yes you read that correctly) I even checked the dress to see if there was anything wrong with it but I couldn’t find anything wrong with it so I bought it.

June Favourites

I can't believe it's the end of June exams are over and summer is nearly here. So on with my favourites.

My first favourite is the Dove nourishing body wash. My mum uses this and she told me that it was really good so I gave it a try. It is really moisturising and I will  definitely   be re- purchasing this.
Next is the nectarine mint handi bac from bath and body works. My friend bought this back from America for me. Here in the UK we don't really have anything like this we have plenty of antibacterial hand gels but no scented ones like this (as far as I know)
Next is mascara by Rimmel it is the extra super lash mascara. It has a curved brush and adds a really nice effect to the lashes.
I love lipsticks and it is no surprise that one made it into my favourites. This one is a collection 2000 volume sensation in the shade sea shell. It is a gorgeous colour that is perfect for summer.
My last favourite is a perfume I don't normally wear perfume but now it is summer I like to wear a bit of perfume. This one is very suitably named it is called Summertime by Kate Moss. It is a beautiful scent and I love it.

MUA Lip Booms Review

I recently picked up 2 of MUAs Lip Booms. They are priced at £3 each but at the moment Superdrug is running an offer buy 2 for £4 which is a really good deal. The Lip Booms where created with Alexandra Burke. They are a 4 in 1 product.
What MUA says “Lipstick and highlighting gloss that creates fuller curvaceous lips for a dramatic illusion of volume. There are 4 amazing ways to transform your lips and give them some Boom!”
There are 8 shades to choose from It’s a situation, LMK(Let Me Know), Ok.com, Vibe, Cheeky, Doin Good, OMG and Bring it.
I got OMG and Vibe I was actually planning on getting these two and it was a bit of luck as they were the only 2 shades left in my Superdrug. These two shades are very different from anything that I own.  OMG is a coral colour and Vibe is a brown colour. There are four ways you can wear them.

There is 4 parts to the product the lip gloss, lip gloss applicator, lipstick and a little pot of lip balm. I am not particularly sure why they put a lip balm in and I don’t think I’m going to use it. I love the lip gloss it smells amazing ( it reminds me of butterscotch angel delight). It is perfect for if you want to add a little shine to your lips. I quite like MUAs lipsticks they aren’t the longest wearing ones or the most moisturising but they are still really good for the price.

I have finally finished all of my GCSEs so will be able to post more frequently than I have been doing. I apologise in advance for the poor picture taking I am by myself today so had no one to take the pictures for me.

I'm not wearing too much makeup today because my hay fever has been really bad and my eyes have been terrible so I have only put on some mascara. It is by Rimmel London the Extra Super Lash mascara. The lipstick I am wearing is by ELF and is in the shade Classy. On my face I have just used the MUA BB cream. I am really impressed with it and I defiantly suggest you go check it out.

May Favourites

I can't believe that it is June already May seemed to go by really quickly. I'm half way through my GCSEs and I can't wait for them to be over.

I'll talk about my non beauty item first. It is the Hunger Games book. I haven't been reading for a while because I've been revising for my exams but I recently picked up the first book in this trilogy and I loved it I will be going out to get the others and as soon as it comes out on DVD I'll be getting that as well.

Next is the foot butter by Dirty Works. Dirty Works is a range exclusive to Sainsburys. I love the smell of this it contains coconut oil and shea butter. It leaves my feet smelling and feeling great which is good as the weather has been nicer so I've been wearing more flip flops. I believe that it is on offer at the moment it is usually £2.99 which is a great price but now it is £1.34.

Next is a nail polish by Miss Sporty called Grape Fit. It is the perfect lilac colour. I love most of the Miss Sporty nail polishes as they are really good value and go quite well only two or three coats needed.  At £1.99 they are great value and at Superdrug at the moment they have 3 for 2 across all cosmetics which is an even better reason to go and check it out.

The net product is a lip balm by Softlips in the flavour French vanilla. I love lip balms as I get quite dry lips so it is important that I have a good lip balm. I love this lip balm it smells amazing and it really moisturises my lips. It also has SPF 20 which is great for summer and gives the lips added protection.

Concealer is a must have and I'm always trying out different ones. This month I have tried the 2true 3 in 1 concealer and I have loved it. The reason I got this was I wanted to try the collection 2000 one but they didn't have my shade in stock so I got this instead. This is a really good concealer especially if you are on a budget.

This is a swatch of the Rimmel London trio eyeshadow in the shade Lynx . I love all three colours but the two brown colours are my favourites. I got this from a beauty outlet store for £1.99 instead of £4.99. I don't think you can get it in Boots or Superdurg anymore as I couldn't find it on their websites but it should be on ebay.

The last product is a lipstick by MUA in shade 6. I love the colour and it lasts quite along time. I have been really surprised by MUA as a whole make up range I own quite a few of their things and I haven't been disappointed. For those of you who don't know MUA is a range of makeup exclusive to Superdrug it is really great value. Most of their items are either £1 or £2 and the products are really great quality.

What have been your favourites this month?

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover Review

This the product that has taken the beauty world by storm. It has only just arrived in my Superdrug and I know you will have already seen posts about this but I still wanted to review it for you.

This is what Bourjois says:
Magic in a pot!
Nail polish is instantly removed with the touch of a magic wand!
For each nail, simply Dip-Twist-Remove in 1 second without any cotton wool.
Your nails will be polish-free in just 1 second*!
Plus, its red berry and vanilla fragrance leaves nails delicately scented.
And…it’s good for my nails!
- Acetone-free formula - gentle on nails and cuticles
- Enriched with nourishing sweet almond oil
- Paraben-free
- Dermatologically tested

This is what I think
It takes a little bit longer than a second but that is to be expected. It does however cut down the time that it used to take to remove nail polish. Plus you don't need to worry about using lots of cotton pads. It is easy to use all you do is dip your finger into the hole and twist the bottle. I bought this from my local Superdrug for £4.99 and it was the last one in stock. I know that this is like gold dust and they have been sold out in many stores. However there are a few downsides to this product the bottle is only 75ml and I'm not sure how long it is going to last. The biggest downside is the smell it is really overpowering and could quite easily give people headaches. Overall I think that this is a great product and I   definitely recommend this to anyone who paints there nails a lot and hates having to take it off.

The results

Before
After

As you can see it didn't remove all of the polish the first time but after another twist it all came off.

Bourjois Magic Nail Polish Remover

Just to let you guys know I was lucky enough to be able to buy one of these as they are selling like hot cakes. I went into my local Boots the other week and they didn't have it :( This weekend I went into my local Superdrug to get some bits and bobs and as I was walking to the till I saw that they had it in stock. I was surprised as I thought it was exclusive to Boots. It was the last one so I got it. I'm going to do a blog post reviewing it and that will be up later this week.

April Favourites- Make up

This is the second part of my April favourites post.

Face

I bought the Miss Sporty So Energetic foundation in the shade light.  I have to say that for the price I paid I was really impressed. They only have 4 shades but this shade matches my skin perfectly. It goes on so easily and gives a great coverage.

I also bought the Miss Sporty concealer. Again it matches my skin perfectly and for the price that paid I really like it. It goes on quite well and it is easy to rub in. It lasts most of the day which is really good.

Eyes

I’ve really liked 2 mascaras this month. First is the MUA extreme curl mascara and second is the elf lengthening and defining mascara. I use the MUA mascara on my top lashes and the elf mascara on the lower lashes as I feel the elf one isn’t really suitable for the upper lashes. They were both quite cheap but they are still really good. My favourite eye shadow for this month is the elf duo in butter pecan. They are really pigmented and are two natural colours that will go with anything.

Lips

I’ve got some more elf products in this section when I chose my favourites I didn’t realise how many elf products were in it. The first is a lipstick from their £1.50 range in the shade seductive. It smells of berries and the colour is amazing obviously the cl=colour doesn’t last very long but for the price it is really good. The other lip product is the matte lip colour in tea rose. I love this colour and I prefer this to lipsticks as you get more control with it. The last lip product is a lip balm that I got for Christmas I use this every day and I just love the smell of it.

Nails

The two nail polishes that I chose are both blue. I have really loved the colour blue this month. The first nail polish is by Miss Sporty in the shade pop fiction. I really love this colour the only downside is that Miss Sporty polishes don’t have the names on the bottle they only have them in the shop which is disappointing. The other nail polish I bought to go with my prom dress unfortunately it doesn’t go at all L the colour is still really nice. It is by collection 2000 and is in the shade show off.

April Favourites- Skin Care and Hair Care

I’ve split up my April favourites into two separate posts skin care and hair care in this one and makeup and jewellery in a separate post. If I included them in one post the post would become very long and boring. I’ll start with skin care. I will include links of where you can find these products online.

Skin Care

The first item is the My Skin facial scrub. I bought this in Tesco for £3.50. This facial scrub is aimed at young people as it is specifically for young skin. I use this once or twice a week to cleanse and exfoliate my skin. It says on the bottle that it has honey and dandelion extracts. Some people might think that dandelion is a weird think to have in a face scrub but it actually smells really nice. I want to try more things from the My Skin range as this has been amazing.

Next is the neroli jasmine body lotion from The Body Shop. I got this in a set for Christmas so that is why it is only a 60ml bottle. The set came with a shower gel and a eau de toilette in the same scent. It was packaged in an orange woven pouch witch I now use as a travel bag for my toiletries when I go on holiday.  This product has an oriental flower smell to it and the thing that I love about this product is that the smell lasts most of the day even when you only use a small amount. This lotion leaves the skin feeling smooth and smelling amazing.  http://www.thebodyshop.co.uk/_en/_gb/catalog/product.aspx?ParentCatCode=C_BathBody&CatCode=C_BathBody_BodyButterBodyLotion&prdcode=29903m#howtouse

The next product is the Garnier 2 in 1 makeup remover. This makeup remover also has a cleanser in it. It removes waterproof makeup really well and it leaves the skin feeling really soft. http://www.superdrug.com/eye-make-up-remover/garnier-2-in-1-eye+face-make-up-remover-200ml/invt/239975/

Hair Care

I bought a mini Tresemme shampoo for when I went away for the weekend. It was great it gave my hair such a shine and it smelt lovely. The bottle although only 100ml lasted me about a week so I dread to think how long a 900ml bottle would last. http://www.superdrug.com/tresemme/tresemme-deep-cleansing-shampoo-900ml/invt/428175/

I also bought a mini version of the Tresemme heat defence spray. This smells exactly the same as the shampoo and it makes my hair shiny. I will defiantly be getting the full sized product when this runs out.

The last thing that I have is the Girlz Only dry shampoo from Tesco. I bought this because they didn’t have any Batiste left in stock. I love the smell of this it is very fruity and compared to the Batiste Blush it smells so much better. However the Batiste shampoo last longer I’ve noticed that I really need to reapply this during through the day which is annoying.
