Magazine Freebies December 2013

This month magazines have some great freebies and today I thought I would share them with you.
Glamour Magazine December 2013
Glamour have teamed up with Nails Inc and have bought out 4 polishes by Kate Spade. There are 4 colours to choose from and some of the colours are quite festive. The polishes are Big Apple Red, New York Noir, Soho Silver and Uptown Glamour. I picked up all 4 shades as the magazine is only £2 and £8 for 4 full size Nails Inc polishes is a good deal considering if you bought them from Nails Inc it would you cost you £44.

Marie Claire December 2013- Rituals Fortune Scrub
Marie Claire are giving away a Rituals scrub. This is the Fortune Scrub which is Sweet orange and Cedar and it smells amazing and I can't wait to try it out. For £3.90 it is such a bargain and I know that I will love it.

Cosmopolitan December 2013- Orly Star Spangled
Cosmopolitan are giving away Orly nail polishes. There are 4 colours to choose from: Star Spangled (glittery red) Hair Band (glittery gold), Country Club Khaki (a nude) and Naughty (burgundy). The magazine costs £3.60 so it is a good bargain.

I chose the shade Star Spangled as I thought it looked like a perfect colour for Christmas and I can't wait to try it out. I have never tried Orly nail polishes before so I am excited to see what they are like.

Have you picked up any freebies this month?

Haul November 2013

Recently I have bought quite a few things and I want to share with you what I have been buying recently.
So I have bought quite a few things in Poundland recently. I picked up a Revlon Nail Polish in the shade Sweet Tart which is a bright pink. I love this colour and it was in my October Favourites. I am a massive fan of pink nail polishes and this one is perfect. Next I picked up an eyeshadow from the brand NKDSKN which I have never heard of. I tried to do some research on this brand but I struggled to find anything. I picked up this eyeshadow in the shade Cinnamon because it looked so pretty. I picked up a nail polish from Famous which I have tried a few things from before. I saw this nail polish Scarlet Sparkle and it looked like the perfect colour for Christmas so I knew I had to have it. I picked up some more Calvin Klein Cream Eyeshadows, in another haul I showed you Bare Silk which I really liked so I picked up 2 other shades. I got Snakeskin Silver and Cashmere Plum and so far I really like them. On another trip to Poundland I picked up 2 nail polishes. I picked up the Maybelline Forever Strong Polish in Ceramic Blue which is a beautiful pastel blue. The other polish I got was an OPI Shatter in Pink Shatter I already own quite a few of these as they were in Poundland a few months ago and I picked them up.
In Superdrug I picked up the Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil as my MUA one was running a bit low. I really like this eyebrow pencil as it lasts all day and the colour is really good. I also picked up the Maybelline MNY nail polish in 261. I think I got this in somewhere random  like British Heart Foundation for 99p. MNY is a range that was bought out by Maybelline for teenagers but I think it has been discontinued as I have seen it in Poundland. I love pink polishes and this one is gorgeous. I got a Rimmel Lasting Finish lipstick in Sweetie for 89p. Which was a complete bargain I think they'd labelled it wrong though as the other lipsticks that had been reduced from the same range were £4.89 however I am not complaining this is a gorgeous colour and I will wear it lots.

I got these 2 pieces from Ebay. I have been wanting some nail dotting tools for the longest time and I finally bought some. I got them from here they were only £2.49 with free delivery. I have been loving experimenting with them as you will see in upcoming posts. I also got a Yankee Candle Sampler in Fireside Treats which smells amazing. I always buy the samplers to try the scent out before I buy and big jar.

A few weeks ago Tesco had a 3 for 2 offer on Clean and Clear. I needed a new face wash which was £4 so it made sense to pick up some other products as well. I got the Morning Energy Daily Facial Scrub I had the face wash of this which I really liked so I thought I would give it a try. I got the Advantage Clear & Soother Foaming Wash which I quite like. Lastly I picked up the Advantage Spot Treatment Gel as my skin has been a nightmare recently and this has helped reduce my spots.

I got this burgundy Geek jumper from Ebay and I love it. I have worn this jumper so much recently I usually wear jumpers as tops and I often wear them with leggings or disco pants. The only problem I have with it is that I got it in a medium but I'd say it is quite small for a medium so I'd recommend getting a larger than you normally would as they seem to come up small.

Lastly I have seen this bag on so many blogs over the last year and now I finally own one. I love this bag it is the perfect size not too small or too big. I can fit everything I need in it.It is so cute and it comes in loads of different colours, I think I may get another one because I love it so much. You can get one from here.

What have you bought recently?

September and October Empties

So I know it is like the middle of November but I wanted to share with you my September and October empties. I was supposed to post this ages ago but it go to the end of each month and I hadn't posted it so I thought I would post it now before it is the end of the month again. I haven't actually used that much up recently but I thought I would still share my empties with you. I finished the Nivea Facial Cleansing Wipes which  I wasn't a massive fan of. I usually use wipes if I haven't got time or I haven't actually got that much makeup on. I know they are bad for your skin but I don't always use them. I also use wipes to remove swatches. Usually I take photos for my blog in bulk as I don't get very much time so I always need to get rid of my swatches. These wipes were ok, they were quite soft but they weren't amazing at removing makeup. Next empty is the Pantene Deep Repair Mask   which I love. This is a really nice mask it deeply conditions my hair and it smells amazing. I will repurchase this again however I want to try some other masks as well. I used up the Superdrug Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser  which I loved. I preferred this one to the Vitamin E one. This removed makeup really well, it was gentle on the skin and it made my skin look brighter. I would definitely get this again. I used up some Colgate toothpaste which I quite liked it did make my teeth seem slightly whiter however I prefer the one I'm currently using called Max White one. I used up the Nip + Fab Dry Leg Fix which I got in an issue of Cosmopolitan, I loved this product and I am tempted to buy the full size. Firstly this smelt amazing and it made my legs so soft and smooth. It is one of the best body lotions that I have ever used and it sank into my skin really likely which is a huge plus for me. The last thing I used up was the Spa Hand Wash I got this in a gift set last Christmas, it came with a hand lotion as well. This hand wash smelt amazing and I am sad that I can't get it all year round.

New MUA Blusher Shades Review

MUA Blushes Marshmallow and Candyfloss
This year MUA released 6 new blushes shades. I hadn't tried any of the single blushes before and I thought I would give them ago. The new shades are Bubblegum, Bon Bon, Marshmallow, Candyfloss, Lolly and Cupcake.
MUA Blushes Marshmallow and Candyfloss
I chose the shade Marshmallow and Candyfloss as these are the 2 shades that I am most likely to wear. Candyfloss is very similar to the shade glowing from Fashionista . I love that MUA have started to name their products and all the blushes have such cute names. The packaging is quite simple although relatively sturdy. I like that it has a clear plastic lid so that you can easily identify the colour when it is in your collection.

MUA Blushes Marshmallow and Candyfloss
Marshmallow is a bright blue toned pink and is very pigmented. This blush is matte which is good as a lot of drugstore blushes have shimmer in them so this is a rare change. Apparently 2 of the blushes are matte and the other 4 are shimmer shades. I love the texture of theses blushes they are a little bit chalky but considering that they are only £1 they are quite soft and easy to work with. The pigmentation is amazing for the price and they are blend really well. MUA say that Marshmallow would suit any skin type and I think I agree with this as this type of colour usually suits most people. Candyfloss is a dusky rose colour with a gold shimmer in it. Candyfloss is really soft and easy to blend. MUA suggest that this shade would be suitable for pale- medium skin tones. I am quite pale and I think that this blush looks really flattering on me.

MUA Blushes Marshmallow and Candyfloss
I really like these blushes, the colour range is lovely and the quality of these blushes is amazing. The blushes cost £1 and you can buy them in Superdrug and on the MUA website I think that they are great value for money and I really recommend that you give them a try. I have since bought another of these blushes in the shade Lolly which I will review soon.

Summary:
Product: MUA Blushes (New 2013 Shades)
Price: £1
Shades: Marshmallow, Cupcake, Candyfloss, Bon Bon, Bubblegum and Lolly
Where to buy: Superdrug , MUA Website
Score: 8/10

Have you tried these blushes?

Weekly Summary #11

This week has been super busy, I had barely any time to write up blog posts. I have now received offers from all of the universities that I have applied to and now I have to make my decision of which 2 I will accept. Yesterday I went to the Bournemouth Open Day and I really enjoyed it. I now have to decided between Bournemouth and UCLAN as they are my 2 favourites. I have been thinking that I might do a series of posts on my experience of university which will include my journey at university but also before such as the applying and what to take etc, if you would be interested in this then let me know and I can start writing and planning posts.

Today is my dad's birthday and to celebrate we went out for lunch which was really nice. I am super excited for Christmas and I have been planning what presents to buy for my friends. I have been really impressed with the gift sets in Boots this year as they all look so good. I nearly got to try the White Chocolate hot chocolate from Costa but they had run out but hopefully I'll get one this week.

What have you been up to this week?

Free Nails Inc. Polish With Colgate

Nails Inc Luminous Red
A few months ago Colgate gave away free Nails Inc. polishes with their Max One toothpaste. They had a matte red and Luminous Red. I chose Luminous Red because I have many matte red colours already. I think that this offer has expired now unfortunately but I still wanted to share some swatches with you.

Nails Inc Luminous Red
I love this red colour. I own quite a few red nail polishes already as it is one of my favourite colours to wear but I am glad to say that this is different from all the other reds that I own. As with all Nails Inc. polishes I only needed 2 coats of this and it lasted me a week before it started chipping. I am glad I picked this polish up and I think it will be a perfect colour for Christmas.

October Favourites

October Favourites
So today I am sharing with you my October favourites. This month I have been loving quite a few things. Firstly now that it is officially autumn I have been reaching for my NYC Colour Wheel in Plum Passion  I think that this is a perfect blush for colour as it is quite a warm toned pink. It isn't the most pigmented blush but I have been reaching for it a lot and it is one of my favourites. I have been loving the ELF lipstick in Gypsy this is the perfect colour for autumn. Gypsy is quite a dark shade but I love it and I have been wearing it a lot this month. ELF lipsticks are great quality and are so affordable. I have been using my Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer in Cashmere Plum this month. This is a cream eyeshadow which is similar to the Maybelline Colour Tattoos which I love. This colour is somewhere in between Pomegranate and Rose Gold from the Maybelline Colour Tattoo range. I love this colour, it is easy to blend and it really pigmented although it doesn't last as long as the Colour Tattoos. My last favourites are nail related. I recently got some nail dotting tools from Ebay and I have been loving using them. I have using the L'Oreal nail polish in You Are Worth It which is a bluey grey colour and I love it, when I first got it I thought I wouldn't use it but I have used this quite a lot and it makes a nice change from the usual colours I wear.  I have been doting my accent nail with Revlon's Sweet Tart which you will see in an upcoming NOTD. I have included some close up photos of the products and some swatches below.

NOTD: I'm All Ears

Today I am going to share with you an NOTD featuring OPI's I'm All Ears which is from the Vintage Minnie Mouse Collection. So as I am sure you are all ware I love pink nail polishes  in fact I love anything pink. I got this polish from Fragrance Direct for £399 and although I don't think this particular shade is on there any more there are still plenty of shades to choose from.

OPI I'm All Ears
I love the colour of this, it is a sparkly pink with a blue shimmer running through it. The polish was quite sheer so I needed 3 coats but it lasted a week which is very impressive. The finish is jelly-ish. I love this colour and I think it will become a favourite of mine.

Weekly Summary #10

I am so sorry for my lack of posts recently school has been really busy and I've had so much work to do. I know I was planning to post during half term but I really wanted a rest as I'd been busy at school. I don't see my school work lightening up any time soon so I'll be posting as and when. If any one wants to write a guest post for me that would be a great help. If you are interested email me at prettylittlefashionista@hotmail.com

So last week I went to the Bath Spa open day which was really nice. The campus was lovely but the course wasn't that great which was slightly disappointing. But in more positive news I have got 3 offers from Unis. I have got offers from Gloucestershire, Brighton and Bournemouth so far which is really exciting.

It is now officially the countdown to Christmas now or in my eyes anyway. I love buying presents and decorating the tree. Pinterest has been my best friend recently has I have been getting Christmas inspiration from there. Hopefully this year I will be able to write some Christmas themed posts which is super exciting.

What have you been up to recently?
