NOTD: Mango Madness

NOTD: ELF Mango Madness
Today I am sharing another polish that I got from ELF this shade is Mango Madness. I have never really worn orange nail polishes but when I saw someone wearing an orange polish I wanted to give the colour a go. I think Mango Madness is one of my only orange that I own.

NOTD: ELF Mango Madness
It is quite a bright colour, and it is a dark orange so in some lights it can look a bit red. As I have mentioned before I really like the ELF polishes, I think the formula is really good. All the shades I have tried only require 2 coats, they apply really evenly and they last a really good time as well.

NOTD: ELF Mango Madness
I really loved this shade and I think it is perfect for summer and I think it looks great on the toes as well. I will be wearing this shade a lot over the next few months when they weather is nicer.

NOTD: Lilac

NOTD: ELF Lilac
I really like the ELF polishes as they apply so evenly and are opaque with 2 coats. Today I am sharing the shade Lilac which is a gorgeous light purple. I don't wear many colours like this but I really liked it. I think it is going to look wonderful in the summer. This polish seemed dry really quickly and I like the wide brush which makes the application really easy.

NOTD: ELF Lilac
This gorgeous lilac has made me want to try more colours like this as I really liked how this looked on my nails and I know I will be using it again.

NOTD: Skinny Jeans

NOTD: ELF Skinny Jeans
I love ELF nail polishes they are an amazing quality and are super affordable. I saw the shade Skinny Jeans on their Facebook page and I knew I had to have it as it was a gorgeous blue.

NOTD: ELF Skinny Jeans
I am in love with this shade of blue it is so beautiful. It has a very glossy finish to it which I love. I love the wide brush on this polish as it makes the application very easy. I found I only needed 2 coats of this for it to be fully opaque. This polish lasted a very long time about a week on my nails which is very impressive for a budget polish. I think I will get a lot of wear out of this colour this spring/summer as it is so pretty. I found that this polish dried pretty quickly as well.

ELF Haul

Today I have an ELF haul and this will probably be one of my last ELF hauls as the ELF website is closing down. As far as I can tell the website is closing down but the product will be available through Beauty Crowd however I don’t know whether this will be permanent or is just for a short time. As the website is closing down they have to sell all their stock so they had a massive sale and I bought quite a lot.
Hypershine Lip Glosses: Vixen and Sugar Plum Luscious Lipsticks: Ruby Slipper and Raspberry
I picked up a couple of the Hypershine Lip Glosses as I remember hearing good things about them quite a while ago so I thought I would give them a go. I picked up the shades Vixen and Sugar Plum. I also decided to pick up two of their Luscious Lipsticks as I am really enjoying liquid lipsticks at the moment. The shades I picked were Ruby Slipper and Raspberry

Blush with Brush in Bronzed and Studio Blush in Fuchsia Fusion
I went a bit blush crazy in this haul, I got six blushes in total. I got one of the Blushes with Brushes in the shade Bronzed which is more of a bronzer than a blush. I’ve been wearing bronzer a lot more recently so I obviously need to build up my collection. I got one of the Studio Blushes in the shade Fuchsia Fusion which is a very shimmery pink shade. I am also really liking cream blushes at the moment but I don’t own too many so I thought I would pick some up.

Cream Blush in Flirt and Seductress HD Blush in Headliner and Superstar
I got two of the HD Blushes as I had heard good things about them; I got the shades Headliner and Superstar. I also got two of the Studio Cream Blushes which look really nice although the packaging is way too bulky. I got the shades Flirt and Seductress.

Mineral Eyeshadow Primer, Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow, baked Eyeshadow, Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow, Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon
I got a few different eyeshadows. Firstly I got the Mineral Eyeshadow Primer as I am really in to using primers at the moment so it’s always good to try out new ones. I really like the Pressed Mineral Eyeshadows so I picked up the shade Beauty Queen. I also really like the Baked Eyeshadows and the shade Enchanted is really pretty, it is a gorgeous gold shade.
I am really enjoying cream eyeshadows at the moment I have been using the Maybelline Colour Tattoos a lot recently. I thought I would try out the Long Lasting Lustrous Eyeshadow in Gala which is a gorgeous bronze shade. I also decided to get the Waterproof Eyeliner Crayon in Pitch Black as I don’t have that many eyeliners.

Moisturising Lipsticks: Pink Minx and Rosy Go Round Mineral Lipstick: Rich Raspberry
I picked up a couple of the Moisturising Lipsticks as I already have one that I like so I thought I would get some more shades. I chose the shads Pink Minx and Rosy Go Round. I also got a lipstick from their Mineral range in the shade Rich Raspberry but it turned out to be more of a brown shade so I don’t know whether I will wear it.

Nail Polish Mint Cream, Lilac and Mango Madness

Lastly I got some new nail polishes. I really don’t need any more nail polishes but I just couldn’t help myself and the ELF ones are really good. I got the shades Mint Cream, Lilac and Mango Madness. In fairness I have a lot of autumn/ winter shades but not so many spring/summer shades so that is a good enough reason to buy more.

Top 5 Under £5

As you know I am a massive fan of budget products and today I thought I would share with you my favourites that are under £5. I have done one of these posts before but I thought I would do an update as there are always new products. It was actually very hard just to pick 5 products so I will be doing one of these again in the future. I also found it difficult not to mention the same brands so I tried to pick product from different brands.
Top 5 Under £5
The first item shouldn’t come as a surprise as I have mentioned it before. Makeup Revolution has taken over the blogging world with most bloggers mentioning their products and I can see why as they have some amazing products. The Iconic 1 Palette is a great neutral palette. I reach for this palette so much I love pretty much all the colours in it. The quality of the shadows is impressive, they are very pigmented and easy to blend even the matte shades are pigmented. The palette is £4 which is a great deal as you get 12 amazing shadows. My favourite shades are 2, 3 and 9 the only downside to the palette is that the shades don’t have names.

My next favourite is the Makeup Gallery Blush in Candyfloss. Makeup Gallery is Poundland’s own makeup range. When this first launched I wasn’t that interested as there were other brands that offered products for £1 such as MUA and Makeup Revolution. When I finally picked up a few bits I was really impressed. I really like the blush as it is a really nice natural shade that is great for everyday wear. It adds a pretty flush to the cheeks and I am really pleased with it. The eyeshadows from the brand are also really good.

Top 5 Under £5
I have mentioned the Avon Glimmerstick Brow Definer on my blog many times and I do still really like it but recently I have been using the Collection Brow Definer. This is a very similar product in that you have to twist it up in order to get the product. The Collection one is slightly darker than Avon one but it isn’t too dark. The product lasts all day and it is cheaper (£2.79) and easier to get a hold of compared to the Avon one.

I haven’t tried too much from Essence as up until recently it was that easy to find however now their products are sold in Wilkinsons. I really like their lipstick in Natural Beauty as it is a really gorgeous everyday pink shade. The lipstick is really creamy and quite long lasting.

My last favourite I have mentioned so much that you are probably fed up of seeing it. The ELF Baked Blush in Pinktatsic is a fantastic highlighter. It is a gorgeous pinky/champagne shade that adds a gorgeous sheen to the cheekbones.

ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon Review

Today I am going to be reviewing the ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon which is essentially a cream stick highlighter similar to the Benefit’s Watts Up.

ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon
The All Over Cover Sticks are designed so that they can be used on the face, eyes and lips however I think there are some shades that I would only ever use in one area. I would never consider using Persimmon on my lips although maybe I would use it on my eyes. I use this as a highlighter.
ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon
The packaging is pretty basic it comes in a white container with a clear lid, the pretty has now rubbed off as find a lot of ELF products to do. Considering how much you pay for the products it isn't too big of an issue but just something to not.

ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon
I apply this directly to my cheek bones and blend it with the Real  Techniques  Multi- Task Brush. Persimmon is a pink toned highlighter and it gives a gorgeous sheen to the cheek bones. I find that it's really long lasting and I can still notice it even after I've been wearing it for hours.

ELF All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon
I find cream highlighters can look a bit more natural than powder ones as they give a gorgeous glow with out looking powdery. When I first got this I was concerned that when I applied it it would strip the foundation that I was wearing underneath but I haven't found this to be an issue.

I really like this highlighter as it looks so pretty. It is a good one to have in my makeup bag as it takes up barely any space and is so quick to apply so I find I use this a lot on days when I have little time to apply my makeup.

What's In My Makeup Bag (February 2015)

What's In My Makeup Bag
Today I thought I would share with you what is currently in my makeup bag. As I have a lot of makeup I switch up my makeup quite regularly so I might this a regular post if you are interested. My makeup bag is a cute Minnie Mouse one which has a blog on it which is pretty cool. This is actually a pencil case but it works really well as a makeup bag, I believe it was from Tesco but I’m not 100% sure as I got it for Christmas.

What's In My Makeup Bag
Face
The first think I have in my bag is the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer* I was sent this because I am a member of the Boots Review Panel. I am trying this out at the moment and I quite like it I’ve never really used primers before so this has been very interesting to try it out. I find that it does make my foundation last longer. The foundation I’m currently using is the Rimmel Lasting Finish 25 Hour Nude I quite like this foundation although for a nude foundation it is quite thick I don’t think I would like the original at all. I like that Rimmel has launched a lighter shade as this is the perfect match for me I think I’m going to get the Match Perfection and the Wake Me Up in this new shade. I’ve tried to switch my concealer and powder as I always use my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer and Powder. Currently I am using the Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealer which is ok but I think it is a bit too thick for me and I definitely prefer the Maybelline one. For powder I am using the Rimmel Stay Matte which is very good if you have oily skin.
What's In My Makeup Bag

I have been trying to wear more bronzer recently and I am using the MUA Mosaic Bronzer in Sunkissed Glow I like this one as it isn’t too dark for my pale skin. I’ve got a couple of options for blushes and highlighters. The MUA Blush in Candyfloss is an essential for me as it is such a great every day colour as it is quite subtle. The other blush is the Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Flushed. I really like this blush as although in the packaging it looks quite bright once you’ve blended it out it is really natural. The two highlighters I have are the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic which I have mentioned quite a few times I love the sheen this gives my skin. The other one is also from ELF and it is the All Over Cover Stick in Persimmon this is a cream highlighter similar to Benefit’s Watts Up.
What's In My Makeup Bag
Eyes
Now onto eyes I have the W7 Prime Magic Eye Primer this is not my favourite primer but it does the job. Next I have the Bellapierre Trio in 24K Taupe. I really love this trio all the colours go really well together, I use the pink shade all over my lid, the brown in my crease and the cream colour in my inner corner.  I have the MUA Clear Mascara to set my brows and the Seventeen Back Lash Mascara which I really like for lengthening and volumising my lashes.

What's In My Makeup Bag
I have a few eyeliners, the Collection Extreme 24 Hour Felt Tip Liner is my favourite felt tip liner it is so easy to apply and the nib is flexible enough to move along the lid but not too flexible that it is messy to apply. I have two kohl pencils one from MUA which is a really affordable pencil it can smudge a bit but as it is only £1 I always like to have one in my collection. I am currently trying a pencil from Bellapierre which I am not a massive fan of as it is quite scratchy and difficult to apply. For brows I am use the Collection Brow Definer I really like this it applies really well and the colour match is great.
What's In My Makeup Bag
Lips
I switch up my lip colour on a daily basis but I have a couple of choices in my makeup bag which I use more regularly. The Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Honey has been a favourite of mine for a really long time it is a very natural colour and is very easy to wear. Another lip product which is similar is the Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie. These two colours I wear a lot as they are very natural colours and not too bright for every day wear.

Favourite Highlighters

Favourite Highlighters
Today I thought I would share with you my favourite highlighters. Instead of sharing my collection I thought I would share my favourites as I have some in my collection which I haven’t tried yet and it would be a bit pointless showing you them as I can’t say whether they are good or not. By sharing my favourites I can give you mini reviews and also recommend them.

To apply highlighters I use the Real Techniques Setting Brush apart from the one from Me Me Me which comes with a brush so I use that to apply it and I blend it out with the Real Techniques Multi Task Brush.

Me Me Me Beat the Blues in Pearl Pink
My first favourite is a liquid highlighter from Me Me Me. I have a few liquid highlighters from w7 and Ted Baker and they are similar to the ones from Benefit. The Me Me Me Beat the Blues in Pearl Pink is a gorgeous pink highlighter. This can be used as a highlighter on top of a blush or by itself. It looks really pretty when it catches the light. I have also heard of people adding this to their foundation to make it more illuminating.

Milani Glimmer Stripes in Pink Glimmer
Next is the Milani Glimmer Stripes in Pink Glimmer this is a lovely pink highlighter. This is a multi-purpose product and can be used on the eyes as well. You can use the stripes individually but I prefer to swirl them all together as it creates a beautiful sheen on the cheekbones. The packaging is very sturdy and I use this one if I am travelling as I know that it won’t get damaged.

MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter
Next is one that I have had for quite a while and I find myself reaching for it a lot in the summer. The MUA Undress Your Skin Shimmer Highlighter is a gorgeous highlighter. This is quite shimmery and may not be to everyone’s taste but I absolutely love it. The swirls inside the product are very similar to the MAC Mineralise Skin Finishes. The only downside to this is the packaging the lid of mine came off which isn’t a massive issue but it does mean I can’t really travel with it.

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic
My last favourite I have mentioned quite a bit in the past month or so, it is the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic this is a really gorgeous champagne colour with pink veins running through it. This looks so pretty and I have been using this a lot lately and I am really enjoying it. I find that is really long lasting and even towards the end of the day I can still see it on my cheekbones.

What is your favourite highlighter?

January Favourites

January Favourites
Today I thought I would share with you what I have been loving this month. I haven’t done a favourites posts in a while but this year I am going to try and be more organised with my blog so I will have time to write and post favourites posts more often.

January Favourites
My last 2 favourites I have been using together. The Makeup Revolution Iconic 1 Palette is a really good quality palette. I have enjoyed experimenting with the different shades in it. It’s hard to pick a favourite shade as I love most of them but my most used shades are shade 2, 4, 6, 9 and 11. My last favourite has been the Real Techniques Eyeliner Brush which I got in the Nic’s Picks set. This is an angled eyeliner brush which is quite small which means you can be quite precise with it. I have been using it to apply black eyeshadow (shade 11 from the Iconic 1 palette) to my upper lash line. I have been really enjoying how that looks and I have been doing it on a daily basis.

January Favourites
This month I have worn the nail polish Marylebone Mews from Nails Inc a lot. I don’t very often choose to repaint my nails with the same colour as I have a lot in my collection but this one has barely been off my nails. I like this colour as it is very unique and I have nothing like it in my collection. It is a really pretty grey that has lilac undertones.

I have been really loving the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic. This is a gorgeous highlighter which I apply to the top of my cheek bones. I use the Real Techniques Setting Brush to apply it and it gives a lovely sheen to my cheek bones. It is really long lasting and I can still see it even if I’ve been wearing it for hours.

January Favourites
The next favourite is unfortunately not available anymore but I still wanted to mention it as I have fallen in love with it. The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shower Gel has quickly become my favourite thing to use in the shower. It smells amazing and whenever I use it my whole bathroom smells of it.

What have been your favourites?

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic Review

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic

I bought this after reading a blog post about highlighters. I love wearing a highlighter on the top of my cheek bones as I think it looks so pretty. However I have a very small collection of highlighters and I am always on the hunt for new ones. At the drugstore there are not a lot of highlighters although there are plenty of blushes available that can be used as highlighters. When I saw that ELF had a Baked Blush that would act as a highlighter I knew I had to buy. I really like ELF as they sell some amazing products at really affordable prices and I have tried another one of their Baked Blushes in Peachy Cheeky and I really liked it.

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic
The Baked Blushes cost £3.95 each and you can get them from the ELF website. They come in 4 different shades: Peachy Cheeky, Pinktastic, Passion Pink and Rich Rose. The packaging is very simple it comes in a black pot with a clear lid, although the packaging is simple it feels sturdy. I like that you can see the colour of the product and that the packaging is quite compact so it doesn’t take up too much space in a makeup bag.

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic
What ELF says ‘The soft and shimmering colour of our Baked Blush creates a natural healthy glow. Baked in an oven, these blushes offer rich pigmentation for a beautiful effect. The long-lasting formula provides a gorgeous, smooth and even application.’ (Taken from the ELF website)

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic

I apply this with my Real Techniques Setting Brush which I got in the Sam’s Picks Set. I apply this to the top of my cheek bones and it gives a really pretty sheen to my cheeks. This highlighter is a gorgeous champagne colour with pink veins running through it. This blush is really pigmented and gives a really natural glow to the cheek bones. The texture is really smooth and it applies evenly. I find it to be pretty long lasting it lasts around 6-7 hours before it starts to fade and you need to think about reapplying it.

ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic

Overall I am really impressed with this highlighter, it is one of my favourite ones I own. I might do a post on my favourite ones or a collection post as I don’t have too many highlighters and I think that they can be quite difficult to find at the drugstore.
Have you tried this highlighter?

Autumn Makeup

Autumn Makeup
I really love autumn, the makeup and the fashion. I love to snuggle up in a jumper reading books. I also really enjoy wearing a berry toned lipstick. You can wear berry tones all year round but autumn is the time when they become very popular. One of my favourite lipsticks for this time of year is a very affordable one from ELF.

Autumn Makeup

Autumn Makeup

Autumn Makeup

Autumn Makeup
For my face I used the Garnier BB Cream, I really like this as it is very light on my skin but it helps to even out my skin tone. I then used my favourite concealer which is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, I won't talk about this too much as I have talked about it quite a lot recently but this is my all time favourite concealer. I also really like the Maybelline Fit Me Powder as well as it helps keep my makeup in place throughout the day. For blush I used the NYC Colour Wheel in  Plum Passion which is a gorgeous shade for autumn.

Autumn Makeup
For eyes I have been loving the above combination I really like using plum tones on my eyes during the autumn. I use the Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer in Cashmere Plum all over my lids. I then use the ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum in my crease to add some definition to my eyes. I think that these colours work really well together I have been wearing them a lot recently. I then use the MUA Eyeliner Pencil to line my upper waterline. The Seventeen Back Lash Mascara is my current mascara of choice I really like how this makes my lashes look. Lastly for brows I use the Avon Glimmerstick in Dark Brown, you are probably tired of reading about it but it is my favourite brow product as I think the colour is perfect for me.

Autumn Makeup
Lastly the lipstick, the item you have all been waiting to read about. I love this ELF Lipstick in Gypsy I wear it a lot throughout the autumn as it is such a gorgeous shade and it was only £1.95. I tried to find it on the website but I couldn't find this shade so I hope they have not discontinued this as I will be really upset if they have.

Halloween Tutorial: Maleficent

Halloween Tutorial: Maleficent
Today I thought I would share with you a Halloween Makeup Tutorial. I am going to do a few of these in the weeks up to Halloween. I love dressing up for Halloween but most of the time I don't have anywhere to go but if you do have somewhere to go I have a few ideas to help you out.
I thought I would do a Maleficent makeup inspired look as I wanted to do one when the film came out but I never got around to it so I thought Halloween would be a good excuse to do it.

In the film Maleficent has golden tones on her eyelids and bright red lips. She also has heavily contoured cheekbones, I personally don't feel that comfortable with lots of contouring so I have only done a little bit but you can do as much as you'd like.

Halloween Tutorial: Maleficent

Face
For my foundation I used the Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Foundation, I really like this foundation as it is a light to medium coverage and it looks really flawless on the skin. I then used my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer to cover any blemishes and dark circles. This is my favourite concealer as it doesn't look cakey on my skin. I used the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder because if you are going to a Halloween party you want to make sure your makeup stays put and I find that this powder is brilliant at keeping your foundation and concealer in place. I then use the bronzer from my Milani Sunset Duo in Sunset Beach which I really like as it's not too dark so doesn't look too much on my skin. Lastly I used the ELF Baked Blush in Pinktastic as a little bit of highlighter.

Halloween Tutorial: Maleficent
Eyes and Brows
For eyes I started with the Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze as a base for my eyeshadow. I really like this eyeshadow as it looks really pretty by itself as well as a base for other eyeshadows. I then used my MUA Undress Me Too Palette which I rarely use as I prefer the Undressed palette however this has a lot more gold toned eyeshadows. I used a mixture of Devotion (shade 2) and Tranquil (shade 7) and patted it on top of On and On Bronze. I then used Dreamy (shade 6) in my crease and blended all the colours together. I then used Shy (shade 3) to highlight my browbone. Lastly I used a small amount of Devotion on a small brush to line my lower lashline. I then used my MUA Black Kohl Pencil to line my upper and lower waterline. I used the L'Oreal Volume Million Lashes Mascara for the first time and I really like it so far. I thought I'd switch it up for my eyebrows, I usually use the Avon Glimmerstick in Dark Brown but I thought you may be bored of seeing it so I thought I'd share another brow product. I don't usually use powder on my brows but if I want a stronger brow look then I will reach for powder. I used the MUA Pro- Brow Kit, I use a mixture of both the colours to fill in my brows.

Halloween Tutorial: Maleficent
Lips
Maleficent wears a bold red colour and for my look I chose to use the ELF Lipstick in Fearless. I love the ELF lipsticks are they are so affordable and the quality is amazing. They have a great shade range as well so there is something for everyone.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post. What are you going as for Halloween?
