Autumn Makeup

Autumn Makeup
I really love autumn, the makeup and the fashion. I love to snuggle up in a jumper reading books. I also really enjoy wearing a berry toned lipstick. You can wear berry tones all year round but autumn is the time when they become very popular. One of my favourite lipsticks for this time of year is a very affordable one from ELF.

For my face I used the Garnier BB Cream, I really like this as it is very light on my skin but it helps to even out my skin tone. I then used my favourite concealer which is the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer, I won't talk about this too much as I have talked about it quite a lot recently but this is my all time favourite concealer. I also really like the Maybelline Fit Me Powder as well as it helps keep my makeup in place throughout the day. For blush I used the NYC Colour Wheel in  Plum Passion which is a gorgeous shade for autumn.

For eyes I have been loving the above combination I really like using plum tones on my eyes during the autumn. I use the Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer in Cashmere Plum all over my lids. I then use the ELF Baked Eyeshadow in Burnt Plum in my crease to add some definition to my eyes. I think that these colours work really well together I have been wearing them a lot recently. I then use the MUA Eyeliner Pencil to line my upper waterline. The Seventeen Back Lash Mascara is my current mascara of choice I really like how this makes my lashes look. Lastly for brows I use the Avon Glimmerstick in Dark Brown, you are probably tired of reading about it but it is my favourite brow product as I think the colour is perfect for me.

Lastly the lipstick, the item you have all been waiting to read about. I love this ELF Lipstick in Gypsy I wear it a lot throughout the autumn as it is such a gorgeous shade and it was only £1.95. I tried to find it on the website but I couldn't find this shade so I hope they have not discontinued this as I will be really upset if they have.

What's your autumn makeup?

FOTD #2

FOTD #2

FOTD #2

Today I thought I would share with you another Face Of The Day. I have only recently started doing these but I really enjoy doing them. I like to read these types of posts as well as you get to see the products in action.

Face
I really like the Garnier BB and I am so glad I received it in  one of my Glossyboxes as I would probably never have bought it because I always forgot about it because it is not in the makeup section. I wear this when I want a light base as this helps to even out my skin without it being too heavy. Next I used the W7 Light Diffusing Concealer I am using this as I want to review it for you but so far I have not been very impressed and I have gone back to using my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer which is one of my all time favourites. I am still using the ELF Clarifying Pressed Powder as I can not decide whether I like it or not some days it looks really cakey and then other days it doesn't look too bad. I usually don't use bronzer as I find it very difficult to get right as they are often too orange or muddy looking on my skin but when I saw the Collection Bronze Glow in Sunkissed I thought I would give it a go as it looked quite pale. It does have some shimmer in it which doesn't bother me too much and it is quite subtle on my skin. Lastly the blush I used was MUA's in Candyfloss which is a great colour for everyday because it is very subtle.

Eyes and Brows
For my eyes I used my MUA Undressed Palette which is one of my most used palettes ever I have hit pan of 2 of the colours. I started off with my W7 Eyeshadow Primer which is not my favourite as I really like the ELF one but this is the one I am currently using. I lined my upper and lower waterline with a black kohl pencil from MUA. For the eyeshadow I used Shade 6 all over my lid, I then used Shade 9 in my crease. I used Shade 3 to blend these 2 colours together I used Shade 1 to highlight my brow bone. I used Shade 6 on the inner 3rd of my lower lash line and Shade 10 on my outer lash line. I used the Seventeen Back Lash Mascara which is my current favourite as it helps to volumise and lengthen my lashes. For my eyebrows I used what I always use; the Avon Glimmerstick in Dark Brown which has nearly run out so I have bought one from Collection to try.

FOTD #2

Lips
Lastly for my lips I used Natural Collection's Pink Mallow which I really like. It is a really pretty light pink colour that is extremely wearable and I thought as my eyes were quite bold that I would go for a more neutral colour.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post.

FOTD: My First Face Of The Day

Today I am going to share with you my first FOTD (Face Of The Day). I am going to apologise for the pictures as I found it very difficult to take pictures of myself but hopefully over time and with practise I'll get better. I hope to make FOTDs more regular on my blog as they are a great way of showing what products look like on your skin as they can look different from when you swatch them.

What I used:
W7 Light Diffusing Concealer- Similar to the YSL Touche Eclat, I'm not a massive fan of this so far as it doesn't seem to do much in the way of brightening.
ELF Clarifying Pressed Powder- This is something I bought on a whim and I've got to say I don't love it. Buying cosmetics online is very difficult because you can't actually see the products so it makes buying base products especially difficult. This powder is in the shade Ivory but sadly it is a bit too yellow for me.
Revlon Photoready Cream Blush in Flushed- Recently I have been really getting into cream blushes. I always used to stay clear of them because I thought that they were messy and difficult to blend. However I have been really enjoying this blush. The colour looks very bright in the pot but once you've blended it out it is a very pretty pink which looks very natural.
Milani Glimmer Stripes in Pink Glimmer- I really enjoy using this as a highlighter on the top of my cheekbones. It is a really pretty highlighter with a pinky shimmer to it. If applied lightly it gives a lovely glow to the skin.
MUA Undressed Palette- This palette gets a lot of love from me as it is a gorgeous neutrals palette with some fantastic eyeshadows in it. To create the look I used Shade 3(matte light brown) all over my lids, I then used Shade 4 on top of it and lastly I used a bit of Shade 10 in the crease to add a bit of definition.
MUA Eyeliner in Black- I used this pencil eyeliner to tightline my upper waterline and also to line my lower waterline. It's a basic kohl pencil but it is only £1 so it's probably one of the cheapest available.
Rimmel Extra Super Lash: Lash Building Mascara and Maybelline The Great Lash- Yes I use 2 mascaras, one for my top lashes and one for my bottom lashes. The Rimmel one has a curved wand which I am not a massive fan of and I find it too awkward to apply it to my bottom lashes as I always end up smudging it. The Maybelline one has a much smaller wand which is ideal for my bottom lashes.
Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in Dark Brown (blogger fail: I forgot to photograph it)- I used to use this all the time but I realised that the colour was just not right for me. I usually use the Avon Glimmerstick in Dark Brown as I love the colour of it and I think the formula is better however I couldn't find it on this particular day so I had to use my Rimmel one.
Rimmel Moisture Renew in Funtime Fuchsia- I really like the Moisture Renew Range from Rimmel and this is a gorgeous shade.

I hope you guys enjoyed my first FOTD.

July Favourites

It's that time again for favourites. This month has gone so quickly and I am now on my summer holidays. I haven't been loving a lot this month as I've mainly stuck to the same things but there has been a few stand out products for me.

The first thing I have been loving is Superdrugs Naturally Radiant Night Cream I really like this stuff. It smells amazing and isn't too thick. I apply it before I go to bed and although it sinks in quickly my skin is really soft when I wake up in the morning.

The next thing I have been loving is a face wash from Arran Aromatics this is a Scottish. I have been loving this lavender and tea tree face wash. This has bits of actual lavender in which helps exfoliate the skin it also has tea tree in which helps prevent spots. I use this after using my hot cloth cleanser and I have been loving how it leaves my skin fee
ling.

Now onto makeup favourites this month they are all eye products. Firstly is the Avon SuperShock gel eyeliner which I got free in an issue of Marie Claire. This is very similar to the Rimmel Scandaleyes eyeliners. I love this eyeliner as it is a very pigmented black and unlike my MUA one it doesn't fade during the day. I love wearing it on my waterline and also to line my upper lash line.

My  next favourite is the Rimmel Scandaleyes eye shadow stick in Bulletproof Beige. I love the colour of this, it is a gold shimmery colour and I love wearing this by itself. I have just been adding it to my lids and blending it out as it is a very quick look to do.

My last favourite is the Model Co. Lashxtend mascara that I got in Glamour magazine. I love this because it lengthens my lashes and makes them look lovely. The mascara doesn't budge which is good in these warmer months but when it comes to removing it comes off easily. I also like that it has a mirror on it which means I can apply it on the go which I go sometimes if I haven't had much time in the morning to get ready.

What have you been loving this month?

June 2013- Magazine Freebies

This month there some amazing magazine freebies that I want to share with you. As most of you will know magazines are a great way to try some great makeup and skincare brands for a much lower price. I recommend that if you plan on picking up more than one magazine that is the same so you can try all the free products (please say I'm not the only one who does that) then use self service or buy them separately as you get some strange looks and I've had people in the past asking if I meant to pick up more than one. Anyway onto the freebies.

This month Marie Claire are giving away some Avon products. As far as I'm aware you can only get Avon products from a representative or online you can't buy them in the shop. At least you can't in the UK. So they are giving an Avon eyeliner in Black, a brow pencil in Dark Brown and a lipstick in Smitten Red. I have included swatches of the products below so you can decide which one to get or you could get all 3 like I did. I've only used the products a few times so I can't give a full review of them but I can definitely say that they are worth picking up. I especially like the eyeliner and lipstick. Also the magazine gives a free sample sachet of the Avon BB cream.

I'd also like to mention that next month they are giving away a Ciaté mini polish and Caviar kit which will include paint pot in Cookies and Cream and a Caviar polish in Shooting Stars. This comes out on June 6th.

Instyle magazine were giving free Nails Inc polishes this month. There are 3 colours to choose from You're A Peach, Totes Pink and It's Red Babez. I decided to go for the red as Totes pink looked very similar to Elizabeth Street that came in an issue of Glamour magazine. The peach colour didn't appeal to me as I'm not a massive fan of peach colours. I haven't used this yet but I'm sure it will be good.

Next month they are giving a Neal's Yard Remedies moisturiser. I have a hand cream by the same brand which I got in Marie Claire which I really like so I can't wait to try this moisturiser.

Probably the most exciting freebie is this mini Benefit They're Real mascara. I have been wanting to try this mascara for ages but at £19.50 a tube, it's a lot of money of money to spend on a mascara. This is a great opportunity to give this a try. I have used this and I really like it. It made my lashes look amazing, I'm even tempted to buy the full size but I'll have to use some of my other mascaras first.

Next month Elle are giving away some fake tan in 3 different shades to choose from. I won't be picking this up however as I don't like fake tan.

Did you pick up any freebies this month?
