Magazine Freebies- March 2014

This month there are a couple of magazine freebies that I wanted to share with you.
Elle Magazine

Percy and Reed Wonder Balm
First off is an actual first in beauty; a product launch via a magazine. Elle Magazine are offering the Percy and Reed Wonder Balm which came out on the 15th March I believe but you could get it before this date if you got the magazine. I don't believe that any other brand have done this so it is quite exciting and brands are clearly realising that magazine freebies can be a very good way of promoting themselves and their products. I've heard quite a lot about Percy and Reed but haven't actually tried anything for myself so am quite looking forward to trying this. This product claims to moisture, shine, smooth, define and soften which is quite a lot of claims and I am looking forward to giving this a try.

Marie Claire Magazine

Neal's Yard Remedies Lip Gloss
I have tried a few things from Neal's Yard Remedies and my favourite product is the Bee Lovely Hand Cream  which I got in  a previous issue of Marie Claire. I am looking forward to trying out this gloss as it uses organic ingredients such as orange oil and white tea. It will be interesting to see what this is like as it claims to moisturise the lips as well.

January Empties

I haven't done an empties post in awhile so I thought I would do one today as I have quite a few empties to share with you.
Firstly I have used up a lot of skincare products in the past month. One of my favourites is the L'Oreal Micellar Solution I love this to remove my eye makeup and I was so disappointed when I ran out of it as I had to use something else which wasn't as good but I have now repurchased so I can go back to using it as I have missed using it. Next item is the Arran Aromatics Lavender Tea Tree Face Wash I loved this face wash it smelt really nice. It left my face feeling really clean and it had little beads in that helped exfoliate my skin. Tea Tree is really good for spots and I found that if I had a breakout this was really good at soothing and reducing my spots. The next item was a disappointment,  it was the Neal's Yard Remedies Power Berry Moisturiser I got this free in a magazine  I was looking forward to using it as I have a hand cream from the same brand which I love but I didn't like this moisturiser. I found the formula of the moisturiser to be very thin and it didn't offer much moisture I also found that it took a long time to sink into my skin. My last skincare item is the Simple Pure Face Mask  I really enjoyed this mask as it is designed for sensitive skin so it was gentle on my skin  but it still left my skin feeling really smooth.

I have managed to use 1 mascara up from my collection. This mascara is the MUA Every Lash Mascara which I really liked. I found that this mascara lengthened and volumised my lashes. It is such an affordable mascara and it works really well. I will get this again as soon as I have used up some of my other mascaras. The last item I used up is a perfume sample, this was a sample of the Roberto Cavalli Acqua perfume. I loved the scent of this and I was lucky enough to get a full sized bottle for Christmas.

What have you used up this month?

Magazine Freebies (July)

Today I thought I would share with you some of this months magazine freebies. I have said this before and I will say it again magazine freebies are a great way to try new products and get a flavour for lots of different brands that you probably wouldn't normally buy.
In Marie Claire they are giving away a mini Ciaté Caviar Manicure Set. The set comes with the polish Cookies and Cream and the caviar Shooting Stars. I can't wait to try this out I have never tried caviar nail art before so it will be interesting to see what it looks like. Also with this magazineyou get a mini sample of the Oral B toothpaste, I love getting mini toothpaste as they are great for travelling.

In Glamour they are giving away Model Co. products. You can chose from a lip liner, eyeliner, mascara and 2 lipglosses (Strip Tease- a nude and Pink Berry- a pinky red colour). I am very excited to try out these products as I have never heard of this brand before.
Instyle have the Neal's Yard Remedies Power Berry Daily Moisture. I really like this brand as I have tried one of their hand creams and it is really moisturising. I also like this brand because they use organic ingredients and don't have any parabens.

Colours Of The Rainbow Tag

I have been loving reading and watching the colours of the rainbow tag recently that I thought I would do one myself. In case you don't know what this tag is, it is when you show different beauty products that are from the different colours of the rainbow. In case you don't know the colours, I'll list them below.

Red  Yellow Orange Green Indigo Violet Blue Pink Multicolure

Red
I chose my new favourite lip butter from Revlon. It is Wild Watermelon which was one of the new shades released this year. It is a gorgeous red that isn't too bright and is perfect for spring/summer.

Yellow
I chose the Neal's Yard Remedies hand cream. I love this hand cream as it is moisturising and smells of sweets. I also like that this brand uses organic ingredients

Orange
I chose my favourite foundation, the Rimmel Wake Me Up. I love how this foundation looks on my skin. It looks really dewy and really wakes up my skin.

Green
I chose the MUA Every Lash Mascara, I really like this mascara as it volumises and lengthens. It gets product on each lash and it doesn't clump.

Indigo
I chose my current favourite bath product. It is the Elemis Relaxing Bath Elixir. Thus smells really nice and is so relaxing to have in the bath.

Violet
I love the Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush. I use this everyday, it is great for adding colour to your lid and crease. You can also use it to blend colours as well.

Blue
I picked my current moisturiser which is the Nivea Daily Essentials Day Cream. This is so moisturising and I love using it.

Pink
This is a recent purchase but I love it already. It is a dupe for the Beauty Blender and I got it from H&M for £1.99. It makes my foundation look flawless when I use it.

Multicolure
I picked one of my favourite top coats. It is Carnival from Technic. It is a glitter top coat which is multicoloured. You can see it in some of my NOTDs  which you can see here and here

I hope you enjoyed this tag. I tag all of you to do it as well. If you do this tag let me know as I'd love to read it.

June 2013- Magazine Freebies

This month there some amazing magazine freebies that I want to share with you. As most of you will know magazines are a great way to try some great makeup and skincare brands for a much lower price. I recommend that if you plan on picking up more than one magazine that is the same so you can try all the free products (please say I'm not the only one who does that) then use self service or buy them separately as you get some strange looks and I've had people in the past asking if I meant to pick up more than one. Anyway onto the freebies.

This month Marie Claire are giving away some Avon products. As far as I'm aware you can only get Avon products from a representative or online you can't buy them in the shop. At least you can't in the UK. So they are giving an Avon eyeliner in Black, a brow pencil in Dark Brown and a lipstick in Smitten Red. I have included swatches of the products below so you can decide which one to get or you could get all 3 like I did. I've only used the products a few times so I can't give a full review of them but I can definitely say that they are worth picking up. I especially like the eyeliner and lipstick. Also the magazine gives a free sample sachet of the Avon BB cream.

I'd also like to mention that next month they are giving away a Ciaté mini polish and Caviar kit which will include paint pot in Cookies and Cream and a Caviar polish in Shooting Stars. This comes out on June 6th.

Instyle magazine were giving free Nails Inc polishes this month. There are 3 colours to choose from You're A Peach, Totes Pink and It's Red Babez. I decided to go for the red as Totes pink looked very similar to Elizabeth Street that came in an issue of Glamour magazine. The peach colour didn't appeal to me as I'm not a massive fan of peach colours. I haven't used this yet but I'm sure it will be good.

Next month they are giving a Neal's Yard Remedies moisturiser. I have a hand cream by the same brand which I got in Marie Claire which I really like so I can't wait to try this moisturiser.

Probably the most exciting freebie is this mini Benefit They're Real mascara. I have been wanting to try this mascara for ages but at £19.50 a tube, it's a lot of money of money to spend on a mascara. This is a great opportunity to give this a try. I have used this and I really like it. It made my lashes look amazing, I'm even tempted to buy the full size but I'll have to use some of my other mascaras first.

Next month Elle are giving away some fake tan in 3 different shades to choose from. I won't be picking this up however as I don't like fake tan.

Marie Claire Magazine
Marie Claire £3.80
Brand: Neal's Yard Remedies

This hand cream smells really nice it has a really sweet smell. This an organic product so is it contains natural ingredients and it doesn't have any nasty ingredients such as parabens.

Cosmopolitan Magazine
Cosmopolitan £3.60
Brand: Elemis
Products: lip balm, daily moisturiser and mattifying moisturiser
What did I get: I chose the lip balm as you can never have too many lip balms. I really like this one it is really moisturising and is great on my dry lips. I think I'm going to pick up another lip balm and possibly the day moisturiser as well.
