Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel Review

Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel
I bought this during a period of time when my skin was being terrible and I'd run out of my Witch Blemish Stick and I wanted to try something new. I have now nearly finished using the whole tube so I thought I could give it a detailed review. I find Clean & Clear products to be very hit and miss some I really like and others I just don't get on with at all. This is from the Advantage range which is designed to help fight against spots. This is the sort of product I use when I have just a few spots if I have really bad skin then I will use the Clean & Clear Dual Action Moisturiser as that really helps to clear up my skin. Clean & Clear products tend to have a high percentage of alcohol in them so they can dry out your skin which is why I only use them when I have spots and I make sure I follow up with a really hydrating moisturiser (I am currently using Garnier's Essentials Hydrating Cream).

Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel
This gel claims to have immediate actions, reduce spots in 4 hours and helps reduce spots. Now I don't really believe that any spot treatment product will immediately  reduce your spots I just don't think that it is possible however some are more effective than others. You can apply this gel whenever you want and you can apply it on top of makeup. I usually apply this twice a day if I have got spots and sometimes I will apply it on top of makeup and because it is a clear gel it doesn't really affect you makeup,

I can safely say that this does not reduce spots immediately but it does reduce spots. I find that if I apply the gel in the morning then the spot does look smaller when it comes to bedtime and if I apply it again at night time by the morning it will either be gone or much smaller it depends on the size of the spot.

Clean and Clear Advantage Spot Treatment Gel
When you apply this onto your spot it does tingle a bit, which I find is the case with a lot of products that are aimed to treat spots. For me I don't mind the tingling as to me that suggests that it's doing something but for those of you with sensitive skin it might not be suitable for you. I do find that this does dry my skin out but as long as I apply plenty of moisturiser it isn't a problem.

Overall I am really happy with this spot gel. I find it more hygienic than the Witch Blemish Stick as with the Blemish Stick you rub the entire stick onto the blemish which means that bacteria can remain on it. I also really like that this is very small so if you wanted to you could carry it around in your bag if you wanted.

Have you tried this?

Recent Nail Polish Loves

Recent Nail Polish Favourites
Today I am going to share with you some of the nail polishes that I have been reaching for over the past couple of months. These colours are very summery and they are some of the ones that I have been using over the summer months.

As you can see I have been reaching for a lot of blues, pinks and one green. The first polish I have been loving is the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine in Blue Grape which is very similar to Nails Inc's Baker Street. I love the Gelly Hi Shine range and this colour is absolutely gorgeous. It is a beautiful bright blue colour. My next favourite is from Essie in the shade Avenue Maintain. I love Essie polishes they have a wide brush which means you can get a nice even coverage and they have a fantastic colour range. Next is a gorgeous pastel blue from Rimmel in the shade Mind The Gap Victoria which is a really pretty colour. Next I have been using Revlon's Sweet Tart which I love the colour of however I'm not a fan of the brush as it is very thin I prefer wider brushes as I find that they apply the polish more evenly. I have become a massive fan of the NYC polishes. They are really good quality, have a great shade range and they are super affordable. The shade I am sharing with you today is Spring Tulip I love this as it is a gorgeous pinky coral colour and as you probably know I am a massive fan of pink nail polishes. My last favourite is another Barry M Gelly Hi Shine this one is in the shade Greenberry. As I mentioned above I love this range and I have seen that they are releasing some new autumn shades which I am really excited for.

What have been your favourite nail polishes recently?

ELF Haul #5

ELF Haul
A little while ago I ordered a few bits from ELF and today I thought I would share with you what I got.
ELF Haul
I finally managed to get hold of the Eye Primer in Sheer, this is one of my favourite primers and it is nearly always sold out so when I saw that it was in stock I had to snap it up. Next I bought a Nail Polish in the shade Skinny Jeans, I saw this on ELF's Facebook page and I fell in love with the colour and the nail polishes are only £2.50. Next I got another Baked Eyeshadow in the shade Pixie. I really like the Baked Eyeshadows as I think they are really pigmented, I have already reviewed the shade Bark which you can see here. I got one of their Single Eyeshadows as I have never tried them before, I got the shade Raspberry Truffle as I saw a review of it and they said it was a dupe for MAC's Trax which is on my list to try. I also got another Pressed Mineral Eyeshadow and this one is in the shade Miss Popular. The last think I got was the Clarifying Pressed Powder as I wanted to try a new powder out.

I will be doing separate reviews on each of these products as and when I try them. I have also included the haul video I did in case you prefer to watch hauls.

Ordering Prospectuses

I recommend ordering as many prospectuses as you can. Most universities offer prospectuses that you can order off their websites. The best part is they don't charge you which is why I suggest get as many as you want from universities as it will help you narrow done your search. Not only do they provide information about courses they give general information about the university and university life.

The information in the prospectuses is quite limited and you can't make your decision based purely on them You really need to go to an open day as this provides you with a lot more information. You can find out about your course, the university and most importantly you can get a feel for the place that you could be spending the next 3-4 years of your life.

I think I had at least 10 prospectuses, they are really useful to have as you may also find out about other courses that you may be interested in doing.

I hope you are enjoying this series. If you have any questions please feel free to ask them? Please bear in mind that I haven't actually started uni yet and I am just talking about the process at the moment. I plan to carry on with these posts once I start uni later this year.

Balance Me Moisture Rich Face Cream Review

Balance Me Moisture Rich Moisturiser
I got this in a magazine quite a while ago now. I always pick up the magazine freebies as I like to have mini skincare items to use when I'm travelling. During August I went away and I got to use some of my mini skincare items. This was one of the items I used and I thought I would share my thoughts on it with you. I have previously used the Balance Me Face Moisturiser  so I was interested to see if this as any different.

Balance Me Moisture Rich Moisturiser
I was expecting this  to be a thick cream however it wasn't as thick as I was expecting. However I find this cream to be very moisturising.  Balance Me is a natural skincare brand and although this isn't always something I look for in skincare products it is good to know that this product doesn't use any harmful ingredients. This cream isn't too thick so it doesn't feel that it is clogging your skin which you can sometimes get with thicker creams. The Balance Me range all seems to smell very similar, it has a light floral smell which doesn't really bother me but it might bother you if you have sensitive skin. This cream is easy to blend into your skin and it sinks in very quickly. It doesn't feel greasy or sticky on my skin like some thicker moisturisers do.  I have been reaching for this more now that the weather is getting cooler.

Overall I like this moisturiser but I probably wouldn't repurchase it because I can't really afford to spend £24 on a moisturiser right now but I would consider it in the future.

Have you tried this? What's your favourite Balance Me product?

Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmer Cream Eyeshadow in Bare Silk Review

Calvin Klein Cream Eyeshadow in Bare Silk
I really like the Maybelline Colour Tattoos but I feel that their shade range lacks neutral colours. They seem to have a lot of bright colours but not as many neutrals although I know there are more neutral shades available in the US. When I saw the Calvin Klein Tempting Glimmers in Poundland I knew I had to pick up a few of the colours. I picked up Bare Silk as something I really want from the Colour Tattoo line is a cream colour that can be used as a base for other eyeshadows and Bare Silk was the closest shade I could find to match this description.

Calvin Klein Cream Eyeshadow in Bare Silk
Firstly lets talk about the packaging. The Calvin Klein makeup range is now discontinued and you can find their products on many discount websites. The makeup range was higher end (the RRP of these was £16) but I don't feel that the packaging represents this. The eyeshadow comes in a plastic pot which makes them feel very cheap in comparison to the Maybelline ones which come in a glass pot. I do like the lids though, as they match the colour of the product which makes it easier to find certain colours within my collection.

Calvin Klein Cream Eyeshadow in Bare Silk
I mainly use this shade as a base for other eyeshadows. This helps to make my eyeshadow last longer, more pigmented and brighter as well.

Calvin Klein Cream Eyeshadow in Bare Silk
I find that the formula of this one is much wetter than the Colour Tattoos therefore it takes a little longer to completely dry. With it being wetter it makes it much easier to blend and you don't have to do it as quickly before it drys. Once it does dry it is very similar to the Colour Tattoos in that it stays put for a very long time.  I think the Colour Tattoos do last just a little bit longer than these as I find that this one does fade a little throughout the day whereas my Colour Tattoo doesn't.

Overall I am happy with this as it is the perfect base for other eyeshadows. Although it does fade slightly it remains on my eyes for most of the day and if you have eyeshadow over the top of it the fading isn't very noticeable. I have a few other shades from this range which I will be showing you in the future.

Have you got a favourite cream eyeshadow?

NOTD: Bare Bones and Ruby Ribbon

Revlon Bare Bones and Ruby Ribbon
I picked up both of these polishes from Pondland. I had heard of Bare Bones before as Essiebutton mentioned it a few years ago. I liked the colour when she showed it, but I was unsure whether the colour would suit and I wasn't willing ton spend £7.99 to find out. When I saw it in Poundland I snapped it up as even if I didn't get on with the colour I'd only spent £1.

Revlon Bare Bones and Ruby Ribbon
When I used it for the first time, I thought I'd add a little bit of glitter to it in case I didn't like it by itself. I really like the colour. I was concerned that it wouldn't work with my pale skin but I think it works really well. I like this as a neutral option as sometimes I don't always feel like wearing bright colours on my nails. I think that the touch of pink sparkle from Ruby Ribbon really helps to finish the look.

Revlon Bare Bones and Ruby Ribbon
I really like the Revlon Colorstay range of nail polishes. They are a fantastic quality with a wide brush which helps to apply the polish evenly. They only require 2 coats and they last really well on the nails. These polishes always seem to have a glossy finish so I never feel the need to wear a topcoat with them. Ruby Ribbon is not a shade I'll reach for often as I hate having to try and remove glitters but it is very pretty and it has lots of different flecks in it so it looks absolutely stunning.

What have you got on your nails at the moment?
