Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review

When Real Techniques launched the Sam's Picks set I new I needed to get my hands on it. I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brushes I have tried quite a few now. I have tried the Core Collection, the Starter Set, the Duo Fibre Set and the Blush Brush and I love them all. Since the launch of the Sam's Picks set they have also launched Nic's Picks which I have also bought. Sam's Picks contains 6 brushes; the Multi- Task Brush, Setting Brush, Buffing Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Essential Crease Brush and the Fine Liner Brush. 

For those of you unfamiliar with the Real Techniques they have a colour system. The pink brushes are for finishing off your look i.e. for blush, bronzer and powder. The gold brushes are for your base; your foundation and concealer and the purple brushes are for the eyes. Although the brushes are designed for set things you can use them for whatever you want which is why I like them so much as they have multi purposes. All of the brushes are really soft and they wash really well I have been using them for quite awhile and have washed them quite a few times and I have not noticed any shedding. The set costs £29.99 although there are often offers on these brushes.  

Multi- Task Brush
As the name suggests this brush can be used for many purposes. Real Techniques suggests that it can be used for blush,bronzer and powder. I personally use this for blending out cream blush. I don't like blending cream blush with my hands and I find that this brush is perfect for blending I also really like it for blending bronzer.

Setting Brush 

I use this for applying highlighter to the top of my cheekbones. It is the perfect size for this as it is quite small so you can be quite controlled with where you are applying the highlighter. It is also really good for applying powder under your eyes as it is the perfect. 

Buffing Brush

This is one of my favourite brushes. I love this for applying foundation and I am really glad to have a second one in my collection. 

Pointed Foundation Brush 

I don't use this brush that much as I have one from the Core Collection already. This one is probably my least favourite as I don't really have a purpose for it. I used to use it for concealer but I have since started using the Contour Brush which does a much better job. 

Essential Crease Brush

This brush is exclusive to this set. I really like to use this for blending my eyeshadow. If I had to have only 2 eyeshadow brushes I would pick this one and the Base Shadow brush as they are the perfect combination.  

Fine Liner Brush 

I like this brush for applying gel eyliner although I don't wear it all that often. This is perfect for creating a very fine line.

Overall I really like this set the stand out brushes are the Multi-Task Brush, Setting Brush, Buffing Brush and the Essential Crease Brush.

Real Techniques Duo Fibre Collection Review

Today I want to review the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Collection. I've had this set for awhile now so I feel that I can now give it a full review.

Originally this set was limited edition (hence the different style of brushes) but I believe this has been made permanent. Even if it hasn't been made permanent it is still available in Boots and Superdrug. This set is smaller than some of the other sets as it only comes with 3 brushes. The price of the set varies for different retailers the prices range from £18.64 - £23.99. 

This time around the brushes have a white handle instead of the usual gold, pink and purple. However to keep with the colour scheme the writing on each brush corresponds to the type of brush it is. Gold is for base, pink is for finishing your look and purple is for eyes. Despite the colour scheme many of the brushes have multiple uses. 

This set is a duo fibre set and these brushes help you to apply product lightly which can be easily built up. The set contains 3 brushes: the duo fibre face brush, the duo fibre contour brush and the duo fibre eye brush. 

Duo Fibre Face Brush 

I really like to this brush for applying powder. As it is a duo fibre it picks up less product than a regular brush which means you get a much lighter application. The reason I like this for powder is because I can apply a light layer of powder on top of my foundation without it looking too powdery or cakey. I have found in the past using other powder brushes that my skin can look too powdery but this doesn't happen with this brush. The brush is quite soft so it feels nice when I'm applying the powder to my face. 

Duo Fibre Contour Brush

I love this brush for helping me to contour my face. I never used to contour as I found that I was too heavy handed so I always ended up with harsh lines of bronzer on my face (very attractive). Like the powder brush this picks up a smaller amount of product which means I don't end up with harsh brown lines of bronzer on my face. This brush allows me to build up product gradually which is good for me as I can often be too heavy handed with bronzer as I am not that used to using it. I have been trying more recently to wear bronzer more and this brush really helps me to get a light application. 

Duo Fibre Eye Brush 

This is my least used brush from the entire set. I use this brush for blending my eyeshadow but I found at first that it was much scratchier than the other brushes. After a few washes the bristles did become smoother but I still don't reach for this brush that much because I have other blending brushes that I prefer. This is good as it blends colours without removing too much of the makeup from your eye. 

I really like these brushes and I recommend this set if you are a fan of the Real Techniques brushes.

MUA Haul

When I found out that MUA were going to be selling Fashionista products I knew I'd be making an order. I have been wanting a Fashionista palette for ages and this was a great opportunity for me to try them. You can fill a palette for £7 which is fantastic value. 

I decided to get 2 palettes one for blush and one for eyeshadow. In my blush palette I got the shades Rose Shine, Flush, Glowing and Milan. My eyeshadow palette contains Frozen, Nude Glimmer, Radiant and Gold Rush. I love the fact that you can customize your own palette.I also got a bronzer in the shade Barcelona.  I picked up another brush as I love the MUA brushes, I got the E2- Eyeshadow Contouring brush. I also picked 2 of MUA''s new blushes in Marshmallow and Candyfloss. That's all I bought and you can expect to see reviews of the products shortly.

January Favourites

It’s time for my January favourites post and my firstfavourites of the year. As I said in my December favourites I would probablyhave a lot more favourites and I do. I enjoyed trying out all of my stuff fromChristmas and I wanted to share with you the products that have stood out themost to me this month.

La vie est belle

I got a sample of this last year and included it in my OctoberFavourites  but I wanted to include it in my favourites again as I now have the full size. It smells amazing and is great for every day. The bottle is simple and elegant and I am completely in love with it.

Radiance glow on moisturiser

I love this moisturiser it smells amazing and it wakes myskin up in the morning. It creates a nice healthy glow and it works amazinglywith my Rimmel Wake Me Upconcealer and foundation.

Onepot of polish

I love this scrub it works really well without being tooabrasive. It smells really lovely as well. It looks very similar to Sugar Crushby Soap and Glory and although I have not tried it this looks like it could bea dupe for it.

Tresemmesplit remedy sealing serum

I have been loving this as it actually works. I have seen areduction in the amount of split ends. This leaves my hair feeling really niceand it smells good as well. If you want to hear more about it watch my Haircare routine video.

Buffingbrush

I love all of my Real Techniques brushes but this is one ofmy favourites. This is great for buffing in foundation and it creates such aflawless look.

Powder brush

This has been another favourite brush of mine. I am amazedat the quality of this brush. It is only £3 but it feels really soft and it isa really good quality brush. I want to get my hands on some of the eye brushesto see what they are like.

MUA Bare

I love this lipstick for school as it is a perfect nudecolour. It is really long lasting and quite moisturising on the lips.

CandyApple

I am surprised by how much I like this. It is a reallywearable shade of red. I love the packaging of the lip butters and the conceptis something that I find really appealing.

Maybelline colour tattoo

I am a bit late on the bandwagon with this as everyone wasraving about these last year.  I pickedthis up at the end of December and I have been in love with it. It is agorgeous colour that is really pigmented.  I have been wearing this pretty much every daythis month.

MUA gel eyeliner in Underground 
I have really enjoyed using this eyeliner. It is really pigmented and creates a really smooth line on the lid. It lasts all day and is easy to remove. This is probably one of my favourite ever gel eyeliner.
