NOTD: It's Red Babez

Nails Inc It's Red Babez
I got this polish in an issue of Instyle magazine. Like I have said previously I love Nails Inc polishes and I love red polishes.

Nails Inc It's Red Babez
I am not a massive fan of the name of this polish as I think it sounds a bit cheap and something that drugstore brand would use rather than a brand that costs £11 a polish.

Nails Inc It's Red Babez

Nails Inc It's Red Babez
I love the colour however, I love bright red polishes as I think they compliment my skin tone. This needed only 2 coats and it dried really quickly. It lasted a really long time as well before it started to chip. I am very impressed with this magazine freebie. I recommend keeping an eye on magazines as most of my Nails Inc polishes come from them, it is a great way to try polishes out for a much lower price.

What's on your nails at the moment?

July Empties

It's the end of the month and it's time to share with you my empties. I love reading these posts as you get to see that a blogger has used up a product and hear their honest opinions.
I had a really itchy scalp earlier in the month and I turned to Head and Shoulders. This solved the problem and after using this my scalp was back to normal. I have since read the they use a lot of sulphates in their products which isn't good for your hair so I might not get these again.

Next is a Baylis and Harding shower gel from the Royal Collection, this came in a gift set and I really liked it. It smelt of sweets and left my skin smelling amazing. The next item is the Elemis Bath Elixir which I loved. It smelt amazing and was so relaxing I used this after stressful days at school and it was very calming.

I used up 2 toothpastes this month. The first one was the Colgate Total Advanced Whitening I really liked this toothpaste and I could see a difference in my teeth. The other one was a White Glo one from Professional Choice which came free with a magazine. I really liked the effects of this as it made my teeth much whiter but I hated the taste of it.
I used up some eye drops as my hayfever was really bad. As I am a student I get my prescription for free but this month I needed some eye drops desperately so I went to Tesco and got these Optrex ones. These were good and they stopped my eyes from itching. Lastly I used up my Nivea Daily Essentials Moisturiser I really like this as it was moisturising and  it sunk in quickly.

What have you used up this month?

MUA Cover and Conceal Review

MUA Cover and Conceal
This is the Cover & Conceal concealer from MUA and their Undress Your Skin Range. It comes in 3 shades Fair, Natural and Almond. This only costs £1.50 so is a good option if you are on a budget. Like most concealers it has a doe foot applicator. MUA says 'Conceal imperfections, under-eye circles, spots on the face with this concealer wand. The creamy lightweight texture which blends in to create that flawless finish with a natural coverage that lasts all day.'

MUA Cover and Conceal
I have found that this concealer is very light which makes it great for covering under eye circles. I find that it doesn't go cakey which I find some concealers do when you put them under your eyes. This doesn't offer the best coverage but I don't have really dark circles  so it is fine for me. If you have dark circles and lots of blemishes then this may not be for you but if you want a light concealer to cover a few imperfections then this is perfect. I like this for under my eyes as I find that it really brightens up that area. I find that this blends really well and doesn't settle in any creases under my eye. This is a great little budget friendly product and I recommend it if you are on a tight budget.
MUA Cover and Conceal
Although the shade range is limited I have found that this colour is a pretty good match for me (I got the lightest shade which is Fair). This has been a great addition to my collection and I find the products in the Undress Your Skin Range to be really good products.

Have you tried this? What is your favourite concealer?

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Bulletproof Beige Review

Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Bulletproof Beige
Whilst browsing the Rimmel stand in Boots I noticed the Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Sticks and I was very intrigued by them. I thought they would be great for a quick pop of colour on my lids and would be perfect for school mornings when I was in a rush.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Bulletproof Beige
I chose the shade Bulletproof Beige as this seemed to be the one that I would use the most. The shade range of these is quite limited they only have 5 colours. They have a brown, black, purple and turquoise and this one which is a shimmery gold colour. I wish they did more neutral shades as I really like this for a quick wash of colour on my lids when I am in a rush.
Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick Bulletproof Beige
The colour pay off is ok it is not as pigmented as some eyeshadows but this is why I like it as it provides a subtle shimmer to my lids which makes it perfect to wear to school as it isn't too in your face. This blends beautifully on my lids and lasts all day. Once it is blended in the product does not budge which is great as it has been warmer recently and I was worried that it might slip but it hasn't. I have heard some people say that this creases on them but creasing rarely seems to be a problem for me. I suggest if it does crease on you use a primer before applying it. I believe that Rimmel are the first drugstore company to tackle these eyeshadow sticks (Clinique bought some out to go with their Chubby Sticks for lips) and they have done a very good job and I'm thinking about picking up the brown and black as well. MUA are bringing out their own version of these so I will be getting them to see if they are any good. I believe that in the US you can get 4 extra shades a white, grey, green and blue I hope they bring these shades out over here soon as the white and grey look like great colours. I think these are great for summer and I included them in my Summer Essentials post as they are light and stay put throughout the day.

You can get these in Boots and Superdrug and they are £4.49

Have you tried these?

NOTD: Nails Inc OMP

Nails Inc OMP
I got this nail polish awhile ago with Fabulous magazine. You had to save coupons and it came with another nail polish called Atomic which is a bright orange. This shade is called OMP (Oh My Pink) which is a bright pink. I have quite a few Nails Inc. nail polishes and I really like them, they are good quality and  they only need 2 coats.

Nails Inc OMP
I really like this colour, I love reds and pinks (I plan to share my favourites with you soon). I really like that you only need 2 coats and it dries really quickly. The colour dries quite shiny and it lasts nearly a week before it started chipping. I really like that in some lights it looks pink and in other lights it looks red.
Nails Inc OMP
I really want to get more Nails Inc. polishes because I love them.

What is your favourite shade?

Weekly Summary #4

Last week was the last week of school. This year has gone so quickly which is scary as I only have a year left at school. I am currently waiting the results of my AS exams which is scary as I don't know how well I did and I need to get certain grades to get back in next year.

This week has been very relaxed at school watching films in lessons and eating food in class. We got to move into our new classrooms which was good as they have air-conditioning  and it has been so hot these last few weeks.

On Thursday I went to Cambridge to see a performance of King Lear. The play was performed outside which was different. It was extremely hot on Thursday and there was hardly any shade but regardless I still really enjoyed the play. Afterwards we went to an ice cream parlour and although it was expensive (£2.50 for a scoop) it was really good ice cream and a nice relief in this hot weather.

The last day of school was full of assemblies full with awards and performances from students. It was a really good way to end the year and I am excited for next year.

Next year I am going to be doing an EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) I plan to do it on makeup and how it has changed over time. I am going to focus on Romeo and Juliet and see how makeup has been used in various differnt performances.

What have you been up to this week?

Liebster Award #5

My good friend Becki nominated me for the Liebster Award as I have already been nominated for this award I am only going to answer the questions. I hope you guys enjoy reading my answers if you want to answer these questions then let me know so I can read your answers.

1. What is your dream for the future?

I really want to travel one of the top places I want to go to is America.

2. If you could live your life by one motto/ quote what would it be?

Always do what you are afraid to do- I love this quote as I believe we should take all the opportunities that we are given even if they may scare us.

3. Who inspires you? (Celebrity, Family etc.)

My family and friends inspire but  also Youtubers and Bloggers inspire me. Zoella in particular inspires me her post titled Just Say Yes really inspires and that is why my favourite quote is so important to me.

4. Favourite Make-up brand?

This is tough I love different brands for different products but I’d probably say Revlon.

5. What is your favourite type of product? (i.e Mascara, Lipstick)

I love mascara I think no look is complete without it. Even if I’m not wearing much makeup I always wear mascara.

6. What brands/ shops do you wish were sold where you live but aren't? (i.e Sephora come to the UK!)

I wish I had a MAC counter near me and I wish we had a Sephora. I also wish that we had some of the shade ranges that they get in the USA especially the Maybelline Colour Tattoos.  Also I wish the UK had a Bath and Body Works, I’ve tried a few of their products as my friend bought some back from America and I love them.

7. What is one item that you really want but it’s too expensive? (i.e. Chanel Handbag)

I would love to buy either a Chanel or Dior makeup product. Or the Naked palette from Urban Decay and I also have my eye on the Nars blushes.

8. If you could look like anybody who would you want to look like and why?

I would love to look like Ashley Benson because I love her style or maybe Rachel Bilson as I love ombre hair but don’t have the guts to get it done on my hair.

9. Dream Job?

I really want to be a makeup artist and hopefully next year I will be doing a course which will help me learn everything I need to know.

10. If you could live anywhere in the world - where would it be and why?

I would love to live in a city maybe New York or London.

11. How long does it take you to get ready in the morning on average?

This depends if I’m going to school I have to get ready quickly so I’d say it probably takes me 10 minutes. If I have more time to get ready then it can take up to 20 minutes.

I hope you guys enjoyed reading my answers

Summer Essentials The Non-Makeup Items

Today I thought I would share my Non-Makeup summer essentials as I have already shared my makeup essentials.
Summer Essentials Skincare
I love the Botanics Toning Spritz as it is so refreshing to spray on your face when the weather is hot. I love soft skin for summer and I use face masks to achieve it. I love applying a mask at the weekend as it is so relaxing. The one I am currently using is the Superdrug Simply Pure Face Mask . I usually use a hot cloth cleanser to remove my makeup but in the summer I prefer something lighter and that is why I have gone back to the Simple Makuep Remover this is really light on my skin and removes even the most stubborn eye makeup .
Summer Essentials Bodycare
Like a said above I love to have soft skin for summer and I really like having smooth legs as I usually wear dresses in the summer. At the moment I am loving The Daily Smooth Body Butter from Soap and Glory  it smells amazing, it sinks in quickly and is really moisturising. I have been loving Soap and Glory's Pulp Friction Body Scrub this is not the traditional Soap and Glory pink scent (which I love) this has made a nice change to have a different scent. The texture of this is very interesting and is different from other scrubs I have tried. It is really good at removing dry patches and makes my legs really smooth. I use the next product when I'm feeling particularly lazy. The Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser has changed my life, before I was lazy and often skipped moisturising but this product has changed all that.
Summer Essentials Haircare
For hair I love to protect it from the heat and any other damage that may occur. I have 2 products I wanted to share with you the Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance which I have been using for awhile. I love it as it acts as a detangler as well as protecting your hair plus it smells amazing. The other product is a Strengthening Cream from Herbal Essences new range Bee Strong. This range smells of honey and is meant to strengthen damaged hair. I have used this a few times and it makes my hair really soft and it smells gorgeous.

Summer Essentials Perfume
Onto scents I love vanilla so the Madagascan Vanilla Flower range from The Body Shop is perfect for me. I bought this in a set which came with a body lotion and shower gel it was in the sale for £12 but I got it for £7 as the sales assistant offered me one that had a slightly damaged box so I got it for less which is a bargain. Thee other scent is by Kate Moss and it is called Summertime. To me this scent just smells of summer it is fresh and I love wearing it.

Summer Essentials SPF
The most important product for summer is SPF, I burn very easily so I always pick the highest SPF available. Another essential is after sun lotion in case you do get burnt as it is very soothing on the skin. I use the Nivea one.

What are your summer essentials?

MUA Cream Blush Review

MUA Cream Blush Bittersweet
I have never been a massive fan of cream blushes I much prefer powder blushes but I thought I would try this one from MUA.

MUA Cream Blush Bittersweet
I chose the shade Bittersweet as I love pink blushes. The packaging is very sleek and simple although it is very easily broken as I managed to break one of the hinges although it is still fine to use. I really like that it has a clear lid so you can see the colour which is really handy to have when you have a big collection of blushes. There are 4 shades in this range: Yummy, Blossom, Dolly and Bittersweet. Bittersweet was the only pink shade which is a shame as I really like this blush.

MUA Cream Blush Bittersweet Swatch
I love the colour of this blush it is a gorgeous baby pink colour. The blush is very pigmented and looks lovely on my skin. I currently apply it with my fingers as I have not found a suitable brush yet (if you have any affordable recommendations then let me know). This blush sits well on top of foundation and it blends really well.

Have you tried this?

Illamasqua Mystery Box

Illamasqua Mystery Box
I am mainly a budget beauty blogger so you may be wondering why I am writing a post about Illamasqua which is definitely not a purse friendly brand (unfortunately) but this is a very budget friendly offer. I was recently reading someone else's blog post about their mystery box and out of curiosity I thought I'd see how much it was. I was expecting it to be way too expensive but I was greatly surprised and I'm sure you will be to when I share with you how much it was. It was only *drumroll* £17.50, yes that's right you read correctly. This box which contains 6 full size Illamasqua products was only £17.50. The box was originally £35 and it has a worth of £93. If you want this box I recommend getting it now from Debenhams.
Illamasqua Mystery Box
The idea behind the box is that you get 2 products which you are certain about. You get a Liquid Eyeliner Precision Ink in Glister and a Liquid Metal in Electrum these 2 products are guaranteed. You will then get 2 eyeshadows in any shades and 2 nail polishes in any shades. You do not know what shades you will get and that's what makes it a mystery box. I was very excited when I got mine as I could not wait to see what I got. So lets see what I got shall we.
Illamasqua Electrum and Glister
The first 2 products are the liquid eyeliner and cream eyeshadow. Glister is a beautiful nude colour that looks really pretty. Electrum is a gorgeous gold which could be used as a eyeshadow or a gel eyeliner.
Illamasqua Never and Shiver
The 2 eyeshadows I got were Never (a navy blue) and Shiver (a shimmery colour) both these eyeshadows are very pigmented. I think I will use Shiver slightly more as it's a very good everyday colour.
Illamasqua Shrapnel and Faux Pas
The 2 nail polishes I got are Shrapnel and Faux Pas I love both of these colours and I can't wait to paint my nails with them.
Illamasqua Mystery Box Swatches

I will be doing reviews of all these products as soon as I try them out. As you can see from the above swatches the pigmentation is amazing.

NOTD- I Love Juicy

Leighton Denny I Love Juicy
I got this nail polish duo in last months Harper's Bazaar. I have never tried Leighton Denny before so I was very excited to give this a try.
Leighton Denny I Love Juicy
I choice the colour I Love Juicy as I love red nail polishes as I think they go well  with my skin tone. What I like about this is that it comes with a base and top coat which makes it perfect for travelling. I can see that I will take this on holiday with me when I go in a few weeks time.
Leighton Denny I Love Juicy

Leighton Denny I Love Juicy
I love this colour and I think it is perfect for summer. This duo will come in handy when I go travelling as I won't need to bother packing an extra base and top coat.

Magazine Freebies (August 2013)

This month magazines are on fire with their freebies. There are tons to pick up and hopefully there is something for everyone.
Instyle
Instyle
They are giving away a small Rituals Volume Mascara in Perfection. I love mascaras I am somewhat of an addict as I am always buying them to try and find the best one. This one is a small 3.5ml sample which will be great for travelling.

Cosmopolitan
Cosmopolitan
They are giving away some Nip + Fab products. You have a choice from the Dry Legs Fix, Bust Fix and 365 Body Glow Fix. The dry legs fix was the only one that appealed to me and I can't wait to try it out. It smells really nice as well.

Glamour
Glamour
I love Glamour magazine they seem to team up with the best brands. This month it is Balance Me I was so excited as they had some products last year and I loved the moisturiser that I got. This time you can chose from the Super Toning Body Wash, Shine On Tinted Lip Salve, Pure Skin Face Wash and Moisture Rich Face Cream.  I picked up everything as the magazine only costs £2 so you are getting 4 products for £8 which is less than what the products are worth so it is a good deal.

Marie Claire
Marie Claire
I was happy to see Eyeko Liquid Eyeliner as I am on the hunt for a good one as I have the MUA one but I'm not a massive fan so I will see how this goes. If you have any recommendations let me know.

Harper's Bazaar
Harper's Bazaar
Lastly is a free sample jar of the L'Occitane En Provence Precious Cream I love this brand as I have tried a couple of their hand creams so it will be interesting to try some of their other products.

Have you picked up any freebies this month?

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser Review

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser
This seems like such a strange product but one that I was in desperate need of. I could list you many reason why I forget to moisturise my skin such as I'm too busy or don't have time but the matter is that I am too lazy to do it. I do not like having to wait for a product to sink and so I just don't use a moisturiser. Admittedly I have been getting better at this these past few months as my  stock of body butters and lotions was overflowing my cupboard and I vowed to start using them. I have been doing this but I do have tendencies to slip back into my old lazy ways and this is where this product comes in.

Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser This is the Nivea In Shower Body Moisturiser, I remember reading posts about this thinking it was a weird product. You apply it whilst in the shower and then rinse it off and it is supposed to moisturise your skin which seems strange as you are washing the product off. Even though I didn't have high hopes for this I thought it was still worth a try as it could be a life saving product. Is it? I think it is as you apply it whilst in the shower as if it was a shower gel and when you step out of the shower your skin is instantly smooth. I love this as you no longer have to wait for a product to sink into your skin as you use it has part of your shower routine. This product has saved me so much time and leaves my skin so smooth which is essential for summer. I got the one for normal skin but they also do one for dry skin so there is something for everyone which is what I love about Nivea as they try to cater for all skin types.

I think this product is a must if you are lazy like me and as it is summer now and you want soft skin this is a fast and easy way to get it.

Have you tried this?

Weekly Summary #3

This week not an awful lot happened. Me and my mum went to Loughborough Uni open day, as although I plan to do the makeup course in London I still need to look at the options and have a backup plan. The campus was really nice and it looked like a lovely uni but unfortunately it is not what I really want to do. We had lunch out a local pub and we had burger and chips which was surprisingly good.

I am not a massive fan of the hot weather that we have been having, I have found that it has been too hot to do anything.I watched the tennis to see Andy Murray win which was pretty fantastic.

I have also started putting together my portfolio of makeup looks and I am really impressed with how it is coming a long. As soon as I have done more work on it I will be launching a new blog specifically to share my makeup looks with you.

Also whilst on the subject of makeup the Debenhams website has a fantastic offer the Illamasqua Mystery Box  has 50% off so now it is £17.50 and the box is worth over £90 so this is a bargain not to be missed. I will do a separate post on mine once it arrives.

What have you been up to this week?

Summer Makeup

Summer Makeup
Today I wanted to share with you my summer makeup that I will be wearing throughout the summer.

Face
As it is summer I will be wearing a primer as it is getting warmer. I had a sample of the Benefit That Gal Primer so I am going to use it up to see what it is like. I really like a light coverage foundation that gives a radiant glow and that is what the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation gives. I have been loving the MUA Cover and Conceal because it really brightens up the eye area. I have been lightly dusting my skin with the Maybelline Fit Me Powder which is really good as it is really light on the skin and doesn't look cakey. For blush I love my pinks and the Natural Collection one in Pink Cloud is amazing.

Eyes
Recently I have been using primers aa lot more I have been using the ELF Eyelid Primer which is really good it makes my eyeshadow last much linger and it is only £1.50. I have been using the MUA Undress Me Too Palette a lot as the cooler shades of brown are perfect for the summer. For days when I don't want as much on my eyes I have been reaching for the Rimmel Scandaleyes Eyeshadow Stick in Bulletproof Beige it is a gorgeous gold eyeshadow and works well as a base or by itself. Some days I wear this and some mascara and it look lovely. For mascara I love the W7 Massive Lashes mascara it can create quite natural lashes with a couple coats or much bigger lashes with a few more coats.

Lips
I love the Revlon Lip Butters and my favourite shade at the moment is Wild Watermelon as it is the perfect summer red as it isn't too bright. This is great if you are looking into starting to wear red lips. My other choice is the MUA Power Pout in Broken Hearted I love this type of application and when MUA realised their own I knew I'd have to try them. I really like them and Broken Hearted is probably my favourite colours.

What will you be wearing this summer?

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud Review

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud
I have been using this blush for awhile now and I wanted to review it for you. I got this from Boots for £1.99 as I had heard so much about the Natural Collection blushes particularly Peach Melba. I decided that Peach Melba was not a shade for me so I opted for Pink Cloud instead.

Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud
The packaging of this blush is very cheap but when you are paying £1.99 that is not too important. My only problem with it is that I have noticed that the pan has become unstuck from the container.
Natural Collection Blush in Pink Cloud Swatch
I really like this colour, I nearly always wear pink blushes and this is a lovely light pink colour that looks beautiful on my cheeks. The colour looks very natural on my face and seems to compliment my pale skin tone however I think that this will look lovely on all skin tones. I think the pigmentation of this blush is pretty good as it is very cheap and also think that it is quite easy to blend into the skin. This blush sits really well on top of foundation as well as I have found some cheaper blushes don't always sit well on top of foundations but this does. I have been wearing this pretty much everyday this month and I really like it.

Have you tried any Natural Collection products? Do you have any recommendations?

NOTD: No Place Like Chrome

Essie No Place Like Chrome
This is another polish from the Essie Mirror Metallics collection. I love this collection and own all the colours. I love the fact that you only need one coat and they dry really quickly. No Place Like Chrome is a metallic silver colour which would look gorgeous on nights out.

Essie No Place Like Chrome Swatch
I really like this colour, I think it looks simple yet elegant. You could wear this with a casual outfit to dress it up a bit or you could wear it with a formal outfit to tie the outfit together. The polishes in this collection do seem to chip quicker than other Essie polishes which is why these are great to use if you are going on a night out and need to paint your nails quickly.

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser Review

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser
When my Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser came to an end on the one hand I was sad because I had really enjoyed using it but on the other hand I was happy as I got to try another hot cloth cleanser to see how it compared. I picked this one up from Superdrug's own range called Naturally Radiant.

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser
I was intrigued by this range as it uses plant extracts which is meant to make the skin softer and more radiant.
I use a hot cloth cleanser to remove my face makeup as I find using it on my eyes is a little too harsh as it uses a muslin cloth to remove the product. This uses kiwi fruit extract  and mulberry fruit extract which helps make the skin appear brighter. The addition of cocoa butter means that it moisturises and softens the skin.

Naturally Radiant Hot Cloth Cleanser
This tube is slightly smaller than the Vitamin E one as it was 200ml and this is only 150ml  and they are both £5.99. I think I slightly prefer this one as it smells nicer than the Vitamin E one. The Vitamin E one didn't have a scent which will suit some people but I prefer products that have a scent.

You use this in exactly the same way as the Vitamin E one. You rub some of the product over your face and neck (I've found that it does remove eye makeup quite well but sometimes the muslin cloth can be a bit too harsh but I have quite sensitive eyes). You then run the muslin cloth under hot water, wring it out and then wipe away the product.

I think that this does make the skin look more radiant and it removes makeup really well. This uses a muslin cloth (which is included when you buy it) which means that it gently exfoliates the skin. The cream is quite thick which I really like as I find that it is quite moisturising.

Overall I think just beats the Vitamin E one but I recommend both of them as they are both really good products. I plan to try some more things from this range as I really like it.
