Balance Me Moisturiser Review

I got this sample of the Balance Me facial moisturiser in Glamour magazine a few months ago. I started using this at the beginning of the month because I went on holiday and it was the perfect size to take with me.

I love this moisturiser it leaves my skin feeling really moisturised and it is perfect for the winter months now it is colder. You don't need to use a lot of this which means it has lasted quite awhile. It sinks in really quickly which means it is great to use in the morning. It does have quite a strong smell which I like but I can imagine that some people would find it too strong. I also like the fact that it is 99% natural as well this means that it is really good for the skin. This is very much a luxury product a 50ml bottle is £24 so I don't think I'll be repurchasing this as it is quite expensive but if I had the money I would.

NOTD Tuscan Sun

I picked this up in Poundland a few weeks ago. I love the colour of this I think it is perfect for the autumn. I love the formulation of this I only needed to 2 coats for it to become opaque. It lasted nearly a week before I changed it. I'm really glad that I picked this colour up.

Products I've used up #3

Imperial leather hand wash £2
I bought this in Tesco when it was offer. The main reason I bought it was because it was vanilla scented unfortunately the scent wasn't what I thought it would be. It was a nice smell but it didn't really smell of vanilla which was slightly disappointing. This bottle lasted a very long time which is quite good as the one I have at the moment doesn't seem to be lasting that long.
Would I repurchase? No

Macleans toothpaste £2.13
As with shampoo I buy toothpaste when it is on offer, I don't really stick to any particular brand but I always get a whitening one. I like this toothpaste and Macleans is one of my favourite brands as they actually seem to work. I can see a difference in the whiteness of my teeth when I use this.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Oral B toothpaste £3.49
I got this little sample free in Cosmopolitan magazine a few months ago, I took this away on holiday as it was a really handy size. I really liked this as although it was only a small size I could definitely see a difference. Also it was purple which I though was quite cool.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Veet shower removal cream £6.85
I bought this as I thought it would be easier to use than shaving, however I did not particularly like this. It smells horrible and I did not enjoy applying it. You have to apply it before you go on the shower and you need to wait a few minutes before going in the shower. I found that a lot of it washed away. I does work but you need to have quite long hairs for it to work. It says that it works on short hair but I disagree with that.
Would I repurchase? No

Herbal essence hair mask £4.39
Hair care is not something I know a lot about, but I've read a few blog posts about it and I knew I wanted to try a hair mask. Hair masks can be quite expensive and this was one of the cheaper ones. I have used shampoo and conditioner from the herbal essences range so I decided to get this one. I liked the smell of this and after I used it I could see a difference in my hair however I didn't notice a difference in split ends so I have bought one that is specifically amied at split ends. I did really like those product as it smells really nice and it is really affordable.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Crabtree and Evelyn La source shampoo and conditioner £4
I had these two samples lying at the back of my cupboard for quite sometime and when I wnet away I decided to use them up. They were ok but they didn't smell that nice and they didn't clean my hair that well.
Would I repurchase? No

Pantene shampoo and conditioner £4.69
I love Pantene shampoo they smell amazing and they make my hair look and feel really good. I loved using this shampoo as it did exactly what it said it did create total fullness to my hair.
Would I repurchase? Yes

Lush rub rub rub scrub £7.95
I loved this body scrub it did such a good job. This was probably one of the best scubs I have ever used. I did a full review of it here.
Would I repurchase? Yes

November Magazine Freebies

This month Marie Claire and Glamour are giving away some great freebies. Marie Claire are giving away Jemma Kidd products the Idefine mascara and the Instant Lift Skin Perfection primer. I choose to get the mascara( not that I need anymore) this is quite a nice mascara it doesn't clump and it does volumises my lashes.

Glamour had free Nails Inc Polishes they had 4 to choose from St James, Motcomb Street, Elizabeth Street and Glamour Glitter. I picked up Elizabeth Street and Glamour Glitter as I already have a lot of reds and I didn't like the look of Motcomb Street. The magazine retails at £2 and the nail polishes are usually £11 which is such a fantastic bargain.

Have you picked up any freebies this month?

Haul

This is quite late but this is the haul from when I went away.

The Body Shop
When I was away there was an outlet store and it had 30% off if you bought 3 items and 40% if you bought 4. I picked up 3 items as I couldn't find anything else I wanted or more importantly needed. I got the Love Etc spray and shower gel set as I had heard so many good things about it and it smelt amazing. I also picked up the chocolate lip butter this smells amazing and it is so lovely to use in the lips. I picked up this bag of fruity soaps as I thought it would make an excellent Christmas present and even if I don't give it as a Christmas present I can use it. With the 30% all of this came to only £10.40 the Love Etc was meant to be £10 so it was quite a bargain.

Nail Polishes
I went a bit nail polish mad and ended up buying so many. I picked up 2 sets from Primark as they were only £2 and they will make good presents. I picked up 3 Revlon ones from Poundland Tuscan Sun, Demure and Blue Lagoon. I also picked up 2 colours from MUA Pistachio Ice Cream and Frozen Yoghurt. I had been looking for Pistachio Ice Cream for quite a while every Superdrug I went in was sold out so I was very happy when I found it.

Jewellery
I picked up a few things from Dorothy Perkins I love there jewellery they are so pretty and are usually really affordable. I picked up a rabbit ring which was only £1 and the cameo necklace was only £2. I also picked up a mint green ring from Primark which was only £1.

I think I was quite good whilst away as I didn't buy too much.

Hope you enjoyed this post

MUA Trio Review

I love the concept of these as they have just 3 colours so there aren't too many to choose from but you can create so many different looks with them. I have 2 to share with you today.

Chocolate box
I love this it is perfect for me as it is just neutral shades and they are all browns. I find that with the Undressed palette I don't use some of the darker colours that aren't brown. All the colours in this are highly pigmented and are the same usual high quality of MUA's eyeshadows. I find the trios great for travelling as they don't take up too much space in your makeup bag. I find myself reaching for this quite a lot.

Pink Sorbet
I heard about this specific one via YouTube and I fell in love with the colours that I knew I had to have it. These colours are very different from the colours that I own as I own a lot of brown colours. These are pretty pinks but they aren't too bright which I like as I don't like wearing brightly coloured eyeshadows. The colours in this are very pigmented and create a nice shimmery look on the eye.

These retail at £2.50 and you can get them from the MUA website or Superdrug.

Have you tried any of the trios?

Beauty Bloggers Tag

This tag was created by Sophia from Tattoedtealady and I thought I'd give it a go this tag is aimed at beauty bloggers in particular. Don't forget to check out Sophia's blog it is a great read her reviews are especially good.

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
It was because I started beauty videos on YouTube and then when they started mentioning blogs and went and read them and I enjoyed reading them. With YouTube videos you sometimes have to set aside 10-15 minutes to watch them but you can spend about 5 minutes reading blogs which is better for me as I never seem to have much time. I started blogging earlier this year in April I am surprised by the response to my blog I know a lot of bloggers say this but I didn't expect people to read my blog especially when you look at some other bloggers who have been blogging for years.

Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
Like I said I discovered blogging because of YouTube so the blogs that I read first where from some of the 'bigger' bloggers.
Zoella
Sprinkle Of Glitter
Fluer De Force
Essiebutton

What was the first blogosphere hyped about product you bought and was it worth the hype?
It was either the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation or the Revlon Kissable Balm Stains. I think that the Kissable Balm Stains are slightly better than the Lip Butters although I didn't buy mine as I won it in a giveaway.

What are your favourite five things about blogging and being a beauty blogger?
I love meeting new people this had been helped by Twitter. I've met quite a few people and I would class them as my friends even thou I've never met them. I talk to them regularly and it is really nice to be able to talk to people who have the same interests as you.
Linked to that is comments I love replying to comments and I will always set time aside to reply. I think it is important to reply to comments especially when people have asked you questions as you can build a relationship with your readers.
Discovering new products I have discovered so many new products through blogging that I probably wouldn't have found otherwise. Also if I want to buy a product I will check other bloggers reviews of it first to see if it is with buying.
Taking photos I know this sounds a bit silly but I really enjoy taking the photos for my blog. I have learnt so much about taking photos through blogging and I hope that my photo taking skills have improved.
I love thinking of posts to do I usually spend the weekend thinking of what posts to do during the week and I write a lot of them at the weekend as well as I don't always have the time to do it during the week.

What have you learnt from being a beauty blogger?
I've learnt a lot about taking photos and what qualifies as a good or bad photo. I've also learnt that just because a product is hyped up does not always mean its going to be good.

Have you changed anything since being a beauty blogger?
I think I have when I started blogging I didn't know much about how to apply makeup. Through blogging I have found out about different ways to apply makeup and I have used this skills to make my makeup look better.

What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
I'd say set up a Twitter account and take part in the #bbloggers chats each week. They are great fun you learn new things and you get to meet new people. Also take part in blog hops they are a great way to find new blogs and gain new followers.

Name your top five brands!
MUA
Rimmel
Revlon
L'Oreal
Collection

Recommend your top five favourite beauty products!
Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation one of the best drug store foundations I did a review of it here. MUA Undressed palette the perfect dupe of the Naked palette review here. Essie nail polishes the are the best nail polishes ever they last a long time and they have a great range of products. Revlon Kissable Balm Stains they are long lasted and really moisturising review here. Lancôme perfume La Vie Est Belle although I only have the sample size I know I'm going to get the full size it smells amazing and lasts all day.

Tag other beauty bloggers to do this tag!
I tag everyone anyone who wants to do this tag can leave me the link in the comments as I would love to read it.

Makeup Inspired By Bella Thorne

So I saw this picture of Bella Thorne and I loved her makeup look so thought I'd have a go at recreating it.

Face
I used the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer which in my opinion is one of the best concealers out there. I then used the Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation which I love. It works really well with the concealer as well. I then used the MUA Pressed Powder to finish it off. Bella has quite a natural look in this picture and doesn't use too much makeup.

Eyes

It's difficult to see the eye makeup but on the lips I went for a light shimmery colour. I used shade 1 from the Undressed palette as a base. I then used the lightest pink shade from the Pink Sorbet trio all over my lid. I then used shade 7 from the Going For Gold palette on my water line. I then used the Jemma Kidd Idefine mascara that I got in the latest issue of Marie Claire.

Lips
She has quite shimmery pink lips in the picture so I used ELFs Glitter Gloss in Twinkle Pink all over my lips.

Hair
For my hair I didn't do too much I tied it in a side ponytail and put a silver flier clip on it. The clip was from Tesco but you can buy them pretty much anywhere.

Please excuse the horrible picture
I hope you enjoyed this post and if you want to see any specific celebrities then please feel free to send me a picture.

ELFs Autumn lipsticks

I have a lot of ELF lipsticks as they are such great quality and really affordable. ELF has quite a range of colours and I wanted to share with you 3 that I thought would be perfect for autumn. The shades I'm sharing with you today are Gypsy, Posh and Voodoo( they are pictured in that order) I think these are the perfect autumn shades and they go on the lips so well they last for such a long time. You can see from the swatches below that they are super pigmented and quite moisturising. My favourite shade out of the 3 is Gypsy as I think it complements my skin tone really well and I don't have to reapply it too often.
Hope you enjoyed this post

Lush Products Review

Today I wanted to review 2 lush products for you. The bubblegum lip scrub and the rub rub rub scrub. Lush is a brand that I don't buy very often as my nearest store is a few miles away and sometimes the products seem quite expensiveness considering they have a short shelf life and need to be used quickly. All that said I really love these 2 products and may have to start shopping there more.

I'll start with the lip scrub. In the shop the women got me to try this and I loved it so I had to buy it. It smells amazing which is great as I love products which have a nice scent. You rub some on your lips to remove any dry skin and lick of the excess (yes I said lick finally a product that tastes good) and then put a lip balm on when you are done. It leaves the lips feeling really soft and moisturised. This costs £5.95 but there is quite a lot of product in the pot so it will last quite awhile.

Now onto the body scrub, this is probably one of the best body scrubs I have ever used. You can use it on dry skin or wet skin and you can use it in your hair as it is said to add volume(I haven't used it in my hair so I can't comment). I love this I have used it on my feet as well as my body and it has really made a difference it has made my feet feel smoother and softer. It is great to use on dry skin if you need that extra scrub sometimes I use it on my feet dry if I am about to do a pedicure. The smell of this is a fresh smell which is quite nice. This has lasted me a long time and I will be sad when I have used it all up.

Do you have any Lush recommendations?

This is probably one of the best scrubs I have ever used it leaves my skin feeling really smooth and I have enjoyed using it especially on my feet.

Lush Bubblegum Lip Scrub
I love this it smells amazing and it leaves really lips feeling great. This is a good product to use now that the weather is colder. I am posting a full review of these 2 products tomorrow make sure you check it out.

Technic Carnival Nail Polish
I love this nail polish as it adds a nice sparkle to the nails. I have done many NOTDs with it which you can see here and here.

Lancôme Perfume La Vie Est Belle
When Lancôme launched their new perfume they gave away free samples on their website. I got this sample at the beginning of the month and I have been wearing it most days. I love the scent as it isn't overpowering but it lasts all day as well. I love it so much that I'm going to buy the full size.

Guest Post- Taylor Swift Makeup Tutorial

Hi! I’m Becki from Dreams With Butterflies and today I am going to do another guest post for Kirsty. Today I am going to show you how to re-create this classic Taylor Swift make-up from the iHeart Music Festival. I love Taylor’s music, energy, style, fashion and beauty – well everything, in this look she has her classic black liner and red lips with curls, I don’t normally wear red lipstick in fact I have never put red lipstick on myself before! I will put a full list at the bottom of this post of all the products. And stay tuned at the end to know what products Taylor Swift actually uses!

Face

I am going to start by priming my face with Benefit – That Gal Face Primer, I am using this primer as it is a brightening face primer and Taylor has clear, healthy and glowing skin. I am going to take a large pea sized and gently putting it on my skin almost like your laying in onto your skin then leaving it for a few minutes to kind of “sink in”.

I am then going to conceal any blemishes, acne scaring and under my eyes. I am using MAC – Pro Long Wear Concealer on blemishes and acne scaring, and Collection – Lasting Perfection Concealer under my eyes as it is just a bit to light for my skin tone which means it brightens under your eyes!

Then using a foundation brush I am going to use MAC – Face &Body Foundation all over my face, this is a light coverage foundation but it is very buildable and I am using a foundation brush because it gives more coverage. Once I am done doing that I am going to use Real Techniques – Buffing Brush to make sure it is blended out evenly and make sure it looks like a second layer of skin.

Taylor has very matt skin, so I am using a pressed powder to make sure I have no shine on my face. I am using MAC – Blot Powder with an Elf – Studio Complexion Brush (this is my favourite brush for applying pressed powder!)

Taylor has amazing cheekbones which I am sure we would all love but since mine don’t look anything like hers I am going to contour to fake them! When your contouring it’s important to use a matt bronzer, there can’t be any shimmer in it! For this I am using Benefit – Hoola Bronzer and I am putting it down my cheekbones, up to my temple and under my chin - I am going to use a kabuki brush and blend it out to make it look more natural. Now my t-zone is much paler then the rest of my face so I am using Bourjois – Bronzing Powder to give the rest of my face a little colour.

In the picture Taylor has natural pink blush on I am going to use Benefit – PosieTint on my cheeks, then to set the liquid blush I am going to use a little bit of MAC – Pinch O’Peach one the apple of my cheeks.

Taylor has a gorgeous golden highlight on the top of her cheekbones, I am using Jemma Kidd Pro – Dewy Glow All Over Radiance Crème – Iced Gold. This is a really nice cream highlighter and is like what Taylor would have used.

Eyes

For a base I am going to use my trusted Urban Decay – Primer Potion – Eden and blend it all over my eyelid. Using a primer will make sure that your eye shadow will stay on all day and it will also ensure that your eye shadow won’t crease.

In the photo you can’t see her eye shadow on her lids, so I have had to use my imagination and I have gone for a light colour all over my lid and a medium brown in my crease to define my crease. I have decided to do this because it is natural, improves what you already have and is simple which is important with bold lips – you don’t want to have too much going on. I am using Bourjois – Eye shadow – 08 all over my lid and MAC – Wedge in my crease, I am then using to use a MAC – #224 Brush to blend it out.

Taylor always has black eyeliner on, so I am using MAC – Fluidline – BlackTrack on an angled brush. I am following my eye shape and at the end winging it out slightly, I am also going to be doing a medium to thick line. I am then going to set the eyeliner with a black eye shadow from the Sleek – Storm Palette.

I am going to be applying false eyelashes as Taylor is also wearing them as she is at an event. Before I apply the false eyelashes I am going to curl my own lashes then apply a few coats of Maybelline – Colossal Volume Mascara. I am then going to apply the false eyelashes, I am using Eylure by Katy Perry Lashes – Sweetie Pie I really liked these lashes I can’t say much on them as I only had them on for about an hour but after first impressions they seemed good!

I am going to line my lower lash line with Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide on Eye Pencil – Zero and under it I am going to use a black eye shadow from Sleek – Storm Palette, I am doing this to smoke the black eyeliner out and make it look a bit softer.

Taylor has a slightly shimmery inner corner, to create this I used MUA - Eye Shadow - Shade 1 (Pearl). I am applied this with an angled brush and sprayed MAC - Fix+ on the brush to give the eyeshadow a shine to it.

Lips

Using a red lip liner I am going to line around my lips and then fill them in using Revlon – Lip Liner – Red, this will help keep the red lipstick last all day and it will also stop it from bleeding.

Then Using a Real Techniques – Brush I will be apply Revlon – Colourburst in 090 True Red. This is the first time I have put a true red colour on my lips! I think I like it but it is quite a change! Let me know what you thick. To give it a perfect shade I put a few dots of concealer around my mouth and blended it in with a foundation brush and my fingers.

I was recently reading Fleur De Force's blog and she was lucky enough to meet Taylor Swift herself! Fleur asked Taylor her favourite make-up products and since Taylor is one of the faces of covergirl (in America) she said the following three items:

- Covergirl - Lash Blast Mascara (Black)

- Covergirl - Line Blast (Black)

-Covergirl - Lipstick in Hot

I hope you enjoyed this make-up look, and the red lips are something that was completely out of my comfort zone! I would really appreciate it if you could check my blog out and follow it! I put a lot of work into it and I am starting to post every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday! I will link my blog here.

Thanks for Reading.
