Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum Review

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum
I got this Liquid Metal from Illamsqua quite awhile ago but until recently I hadn't really used it. It is a cream eyeshadow and I wasn't really sure that gold would suit me but I recently tried it and I really like it. You may remember that I got this in a mystery gift box quite awhile ago.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum
The packaging has an unusual shape, I don't know what shape you'd call it but it isn't fully square. All of Illamsqua's powder and cream products are packaged in this way. The pot is made of plastic and it is clear so you can see the colour of the product, the lid is a simple black lid with the logo in the middle. The packaging is very simply but I really like it. It is quite compact so it doesn't take up to much space in my makeup bag.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum
I have the shade Electrum which is a metallic gold. I have worn it is an eyeshadow a couple of times. It applies really easily, it is very creamy and pigmented but it is very easy to blend. I actually like to wear this as an eyeliner. I like to apply a pale shimmery shade on my eyelids and using the Real Techniques Fine Liner Brush I apply this to my lids. I create a thin line without a flick. I really like the look that this creates. I think it would be great to wear to a Christmas party. I like using this as an eyeliner as it doesn't smudge or transfer and it will last all day.

Illamasqua Liquid Metal in Electrum

I don't know whether I would pay £17.50 as it seems quite a lot of money for something that I don't use on a daily basis.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
This was another one of the Boots Star Gifts. It was originally £45 but I got it on offer for £22. I thought I would share with you what was in it. I love Sanctuary Spa products, the smell amazing and I am addicted to the scent.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
Firstly I want to talk about the packaging this gift set came in a gorgeous box. The lid lifts off and the the box opens out so you can get to the products.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
The first thing I noticed was the Body Butter, I currently have the travel size of this and I absolutely love it. It smells amazing and is really moisturising on my skin.
Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
Next we have the Foaming Creamy Bath Soak, I can't use this at the moment as at Uni I don't have a bath but I can't wait to use it when I go home. I can think of nothing better than having a bath using this heavenly scented product. I got the Cleansing Burst Body Wash which I can not wait to use in the shower. I have so many shower gels in my shower at the moment but this is going to be lovely. It will be a tough decision to decide whether to use this or the Body Shop Glazed Apple one which I am completely in love with.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
Next we have the Luxury Bath Float, I can see that I will be having a lot of baths when I get home. You also get the Silky Smooth Body Lotion.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
Next I got the Intensive Heel Balm, the Hand Cream and the Radiance Exfoliator. I can't wait to try these out especially the hand and foot cream.

Sanctuary Spa Gift Set- Box of Delights
The last thing I got was the Gentle Polish Body Scrub which I am interested in trying as I love trying different scrubs out and my one from Soap and Glory is nearly empty.

In the gift set there was also a voucher for £2 off their bodycare products which I will certainly be using. I can't wait to use these products as they smell amazing if you have never smelt Sanctuary's products I recommend that you do as they smell fantastic.

NOTD: Indigo Night

NOTD: Revlon Indigo Night
Today I am sharing with you a polish from Revlon. I picked this up from Poundworld as the one near me has a lot of Revlon nail polishes in at the moment. I like the Revlon Colourstay polishes but I wouldn't want to spend £7.99 on them so I often pick them up in discount shops.

NOTD: Revlon Indigo Night

NOTD: Revlon Indigo Night
I picked up the shade Indigo Night which is a gorgeous blue shade. I really like wearing blue polishes and I fell in love with this shade. I like these Revlon polishes as they have a really wide brush which makes the application very easy. You only need 2 coats of this polish for it to become fully opaque. The polish lasts a week before it starts to chip.

NOTD: Revlon Indigo Night
I recommend checking out Poundworld to see if they have any of these polishes as I really like this range I think I have 7 or 8 from this range. They have a fantastic range of colours and the quality is really good.

Makeup Revolution Haul

If you are an avid blog reader then you will probably of heard of Makeup Revolution. They are a new brand which seems to have taken the blogging world by storm . They are a super affordable brand with lots of exciting products on offer many of which are dupes for higher end products.

Makeup Revolution Haul
I recently made an order as I could not wait any longer. After reading so many posts I needed to try some of their products and I know I will be ordering some more as I am very impressed with what they have on offer. Firstly I got 3 of their lipsticks which are only £1. The shades I got were Mystify, Rebel With Cause and The One.

Makeup Revolution Haul
I picked up 2 of their individual eyeshadows as I heard that they were really good. I got the shades Sold Out and Promised Land. They are only £1 each and they are super pigmented. I picked up one of the powder blushes in Wow!, it is a really pretty pink blush which I can't wait to try.

Makeup Revolution Haul
I got 3 of the All Day & Night eyeliners after reading good things about them. I got One Sin Too Many, Stars Come Out and Channeling My Inner. I am really looking forward to trying these eyeliners out as when I swatched them they feel really soft and creamy.

Makeup Revolution Haul
Lastly I got probably one of their most popular products. The eyeshadow palettes have been talked about quite a lot. I got the Iconic 1,2 and 3 palettes which are dupes for the Naked palettes.

I can't wait to try everything out and I will be reviewing everything as soon as I try it out.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
When Real Techniques launched the Sam's Picks set I new I needed to get my hands on it. I am a massive fan of the Real Techniques brushes I have tried quite a few now. I have tried the Core Collection, the Starter Set, the Duo Fibre Set and the Blush Brush and I love them all. Since the launch of the Sam's Picks set they have also launched Nic's Picks which I have also bought. Sam's Picks contains 6 brushes; the Multi- Task Brush, Setting Brush, Buffing Brush, Pointed Foundation Brush, Essential Crease Brush and the Fine Liner Brush.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
For those of you unfamiliar with the Real Techniques they have a colour system. The pink brushes are for finishing off your look i.e. for blush, bronzer and powder. The gold brushes are for your base; your foundation and concealer and the purple brushes are for the eyes. Although the brushes are designed for set things you can use them for whatever you want which is why I like them so much as they have multi purposes. All of the brushes are really soft and they wash really well I have been using them for quite awhile and have washed them quite a few times and I have not noticed any shedding. The set costs £29.99 although there are often offers on these brushes.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Multi- Task Brush
As the name suggests this brush can be used for many purposes. Real Techniques suggests that it can be used for blush, bronzer and powder. I personally use this for blending out cream blush. I don't like blending cream blush with my hands and I find that this brush is perfect for blending I also really like it for blending bronzer.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Setting Brush
I use this for applying highlighter to the top of my cheekbones. It is the perfect size for this as it is quite small so you can be quite controlled with where you are applying the highlighter. It is also really good for applying powder under your eyes as it is the perfect.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Buffing Brush
This is one of my favourite brushes. I love this for applying foundation and I am really glad to have a second one in my collection.
Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Pointed Foundation Brush
I don't use this brush that much as I have one from the Core Collection already. This one is probably my least favourite as I don't really have a purpose for it. I used to use it for concealer but I have since started using the Contour Brush which does a much better job.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Essential Crease Brush
This brush is exclusive to this set. I really like to use this for blending my eyeshadow. If I had to have only 2 eyeshadow brushes I would pick this one and the Base Shadow brush as they are the perfect combination.

Real Techniques Sam's Picks Review
Fine Liner Brush
I like this brush for applying gel eyliner although I don't wear it all that often. This is perfect for creating a very fine line.

Overall I really like this set the stand out brushes are the Multi-Task Brush, Setting Brush, Buffing Brush and the Essential Crease Brush.

Have you got this set?

Wishlist #15- Christmas Gift Set Edition

Wishlist #15- Christmas Gift Set Edition

One of the things I love about Christmas time is the amazing beauty gift sets that are available. Each year I am blown away by the different sets on offer and I also want to buy the whole of Boots. The gift sets are usually great value for money and they are a great way to try out a variety of products from a brand. Today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite ones available.

First up is the Soap and Glory The Next Big Thing (£60). Each year Soap and Glory release a massive gift set with some of their bestsellers and each year it is one of the Boots Star Gifts so it gets discounted usually to less than half price which is the best time to buy it. Hopefully they will do the same this year as this has some great products in that I really want to try.

Next we have the Benefit Cheeky Sweet Spot Box O'Blushes (£29.50), this gift set is amazing value for money it has all the Benefit box blushes in and one boxed blush costs £23.50 so you can get them all for such an amazing price. This would be a great way to try them all out and I will definitely be getting this.

I have fallen in love with Sanctuary Spa all their products smell amazing so I would love to have the Eau De Toilette (£16.50). All the Sanctuary products have a gorgeous scent so I would love to be able to spritz myself with it.

Next is a lovely set from Nails Inc (£42), it is a set of 6 of their gel effect polishes. I am a massive fan of Nails Inc but I have not tried their gel effect polishes but I would really love to try them out as I really like gel effect polishes such as the Barry M Gelly Hi Shine polishes.

As I mentioned above I love the smell of Sanctuary Spa (£18) products I have become what some might called obsessed. This gift set includes 2 diffusers, 2 candles and a room spray. I love the smell so much that I would love to be surrounded by it all the time.

The last gift set is an eyeshadow palette from Soap and Glory (£16). A girl can never have too many neutral palettes can she? I haven't tried too much from the Soap and Glory makeup line and this palette looks really good. I have had my eye on their eyeshadow quads but they are £10 which seems a lot for 4 eyeshadows but £16 for 10 eyeshadows is much better value.

Which gift sets are on your wishlist?

NOTD: Hanover Square

NOTD: Nails Inc Hanover Square
I got this polish in this months Glamour magazine. They have 4 shades to choose from I got all 4 as it is a great deal as each polish is worth £11 and the magazine is only £2. The shade I am sharing with you today is Hanover Square.

NOTD: Nails Inc Hanover Square
I believe that this shade is exclusive to Glamour magazine as I could not find it on the website. I would describe this colour as being a deep burgundy colour that in some lights can look black. I quite liked wearing this colour as it is different from the usual colours that I wear. I think this is a perfect colour for autumn/winter. This lasted pretty well and it would have lasted longer if I hadn't bought some makeup. I bought a few eyeliners and they had that annoying plastic around them which is really difficult to get off so my nails ending up getting chipped.

Magazine Freebies: December 2014 Elle Magazine

Magazine Freebies: December 2014 Elle Magazine
Today I have another fantastic magazine freebie to share with you. Earlier this year Benefit released a new eyeliner as part of their They're Real range. The new eyeliner is the first of its kind, it is a push up gel eyeliner that is meant to make applying eyeliner easier. I have heard mixed reviews about this eyeliner which is why have been reluctant to spend £18.50 as that is a lot of  money to spend on an eyeliner that I may or may not like. This month Elle Magazine has a sample of the eyeliner which is the perfect way to try it out without spending too much money.

Magazine Freebies: December 2014 Elle Magazine
I am yet to try this eyeliner but I am really looking forward to giving it a go and I will share my thoughts on it as soon as I have tried it out. If you have been thinking about trying out this eyeliner I recommend picking up the magazine as it is only £4 and it is a much more affordable way of trying out the eyeliner.

Have you picked up any freebies this month?

Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Tribute Review

Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Tribute
I haven't used many single eyeshadows as I much prefer to use palettes, trios or quads as I often like to use more than one colour on my lids so it is much easier when they are all together. However when I was in a local discount shop I stumbled across this eyeshadow from Rimmel, I feel in love with the colour and I decided despite it being a single eyeshadow I just had to have it.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Tribute
The packaging is quite simple but sturdy. I like that the packaging is quite compact as often cheaper brands have really bulky packaging which is really inconvenient if you want to take it travelling as it takes up a lot of space in a makeup bag. However you do not need to worry about that with this eyeshadow as it is very easy to slip into a makeup bag.

These eyeshadows retail at £4.49 and you can get them from Boots and Superdrug but you can find them in discount shops and on discount websites such as Fragrance Direct for much less. I do feel that nearly £5 is quite a lot for 1 eyeshadow when you can buy a whole palette for £4 which has 12 shades in however I think I can justify the price considering the amazing quality of this eyeshadow. I can't speak for the whole range though so there could be potentially some shades that are not as pigmented.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Tribute
The eyeshadow itself has a lovely embossed pattern as well as the Rimmel crown. The quality of the eyeshadow is fantastic for such an affordable product. The eyeshadow is very soft and easy to blend. The pigmentation is amazing and I was very impressed when I first swatched it. I love to wear this all over my lids when I'm going for a much easier and quicker look. This looks really pretty on especially with a bit of black eyeliner. This is a great colour for when I'm in a rush and want some colour on my lids but don't have time to apply more than one colour. This still looks like I have put in a lot of effort even though I haven't.

Rimmel Glam Eyes Eyeshadow in Tribute
Overall I am really impressed with this eyeshadow from Rimmel and I would really like to try more from this range. I do have another shade from this range called Punchy Taupe which I will be reviewing soon.

Have you tried these eyeshadows?

Ted Baker Gift Set- The Girl With The Beautiful Face

Ted Baker Gift Set- The Girl With The Beautiful Face
Today I wanted to share with you this gorgeous gift set from Ted Baker. A couple of weeks ago this was the Boots Star Gift. For those of you who don't know what that means, each week up until Christmas Boots discounts one of their gift sets to usually less than half price and you can get a fantastic deal. The full price of this is £40 but I got it for £19 which is such a good deal I recommend keeping an eye on the Boots website to find out what the Star Gift is each week they also do weekly offers on their gifts sets and you can get some fantastic deals.

Ted Baker Gift Set- The Girl With The Beautiful Face
Firstly I want to talk about the packaging. The packaging is absolutely gorgeous it comes in a gorgeous mint green box with Ted Baker in gold lettering on the top. It is designed like a jewellery box in that the top bit lifts up and there is also a draw which has some of the products in. I think this is really pretty and it is something I am going to keep to use for storing makeup in. I might store my everyday products in it as I think it will look so pretty on my desk.

Ted Baker Gift Set- The Girl With The Beautiful Face
In the top part of the box you get 2 illuminators; a pink one and a golden one. I am looking forward to trying this as I recently got into liquid highlighters so it will interesting to see what these are like. Next is a gorgeous bronzer/blush compact which comes in gorgeous rose gold packaging. This is a gorgeous product that I can't wait to try out. Next is a kabuki brush which has a rose gold handle, I have never used a kabuki brush so I'm looking forward to trying it out. The last 2 things in this section are 2 nail polishes a gorgeous red and a silvery/gold colour which reminds me of Essie's Penny Talk.
Ted Baker Gift Set- The Girl With The Beautiful Face
The bottom section contains eyes and lip products. The first 2 products are lip products, the first one is a lip crayon in a gorgeous wine colour and the lipstick is a pretty red. Next is a pair of rose gold eyelash curlers which I am looking forward to using as they are so pretty. Next we have 2 cream eyeshadows a silver and gold colour which I am looking forward to using as I really like eyeshadow sticks but haven't tried too many (I've only tried the ones from Rimmel and Collection). The last 2 items are a mascara which is always useful to have and a felt liner which I am looking forward to trying as I have recently got back into using them.

I plan to review everything separately so keep your eyes open for those posts.

Have you picked up any bargains from Boots?

Celebrity Style: Emma Watson

Today I bring you another Celebrity Style post. For those of you unfamiliar with these posts, each week I will pick a celebrity (I also take requests) and find a picture of an outfit that I like and would want to recreate. I then search the website and find similar pieces to the original outfit. I try to pick out items that are affordable so for the most part all the items I share with you will be below £50. If you have any requests for celebrities then you can either leave them in the comments or email me at prettylittlefashionista@hotmail.com
Today I have chosen Emma Watson. Emma is a celebrity I find truly inspirational not only is she a great actress she does a lot of charity work and her speech at the United Nations was amazing. The outfit I have chosen is this one. I like to share casual outfits as they are the ones that people are likely to wear as much as we would all love to wear some of the dresses that celebrities wear on the red carpet they are a little too much for 'everyday' live. I really liked this outfit as it is something that I would happily wear. As the picture doesn't show her top I picked a blouse that I thought would go really well with the outfit.

Celebrity Style: Emma Watson
Celebrity Style: Emma Watson
Top- Matalan £12
Coat- ASOS £48
Jeans- Boohoo £20
Bag- River Island £50
Boots- House of Fraser £30
Scarf- House of Fraser £20

Outfit Total: £180

I know this outfit is quite expensive but it has a lot of staple pieces which you could wear with lots of different outfits such as the coat, boots and bag which would go with a lot of different outfits.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post and if you have any celebrity requests then let me know.

Wishlist #14 Homeware Edition

Wishlist #14 Homeware Edition
I love looking at homeware items and interior design. I often spend hours looking through Pinterest  at homes and homeware. At the moment I am staying in Halls at University so it is quite restrictive in what you can do decoration wise so the best way to personalise your room is to have pretty ornaments and cute bedding. Today I have complied some of my favourite pieces that I want to buy for my flat.

The first thing is a canvas, we aren't actually allowed to put things on our walls so this is not something that I will buy but I wanted to include it because I love it so much. I really like the message on it and I really like to have inspirational/motivational around my room.

Next is this jewellery box which has heart cut outs on it. I probably wouldn't use it for jewellery but I think it would be great for storing nail polishes however I'd probably need at least 2 to fit all my nail polishes so it could become quite an expensive storage idea as it costs £35.

Next is a cushion that has eyes on it. I think this is so cute and girly and would go really well in my room as most of bedding is pink.

How adorable is this plate from H&M it is literally the cutest plate I have seen. I was given the plates that I have bought to Uni with me but they aren't really to my taste so I'm considering getting some new ones and these are so cute and they are only £3.99 each.

I really like red and white as I think they work really well for the winter and this bedding is so cute. It is red and white with hearts on it. A lot of the bedding I have looked at that is red and white has been Christmas related so it's nice to find one that isn't Christmasy as you can use it for longer as I feel that you can only have Christmas bedding in December.

Lastly is the squirrel clock, a lot of people don't have clocks anymore as you can use your phone, laptop and tablet etc for the time but I really like to have a clock as I love being able to hear it tick at night. I know some people will find that weird but I find the sound relaxing so not having one in my room at the moment is quite annoying.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post.

The Body Shop Haul

The Body Shop Haul
I haven't really tried too much from The Body Shop but when they had a sale I decided to order a few items. I firstly picked up a couple of their Eau De Toilettes in the fragrances Chocomania and Brazil Nut. I love the Chocomania range but I had never tried the Brazil Nut range but I really like the smell of this range and I am glad I picked it up.

The Body Shop Haul
I picked up the Chocomania Beautifying Oil which you can use on your body, face and hair. I have only tried one oil and it was a hair oil that I got in Poundland. So it will be interesting to see what this is like. I also got the Chocomania Body Lotion as you can never have too many body lotions I also really like that it has a pump as I hate having to dip my finger into a pot.

The Body Shop Haul
I'm so glad I got the Brazil Nut Body Scrub as it smells absolutely amazing and I can't wait to use it in the shower. Whilst I was on the website I signed up for their Love Your Body Card as you get 10% of your purchases and I also got a free hand cream. I got the Wild Rose hand cream which smells lovely.

I am looking forward to trying everything out. Do you have any Body Shop recommendations?

Magazine Freebies: Glamour Magazine December 2014

This months Glamour magazine has some amazing freebies in it. They have a card from the Body Shop which is worth £3, £15, £100 or £1000 which is great as I have my eye on some of the new Christmas products so to get some money off is always good. There is also a card for 20% off at H&M.

Now onto the actual freebies in the magazines. This month Glamour magazine has 4 Nails Inc polishes on offer. The colours are Hanover Square, Wigmore Street, Marylebone, Mews and Tate.
Hanover Square is a dark burgundy which I am wearing on my nails right now and I will be posting about it next week. Wigmore Street is a really pretty purple. Marylebone Mews is an unusual colour it is a grey which has a hint of lilac to it. Tate is a classic red colour which I love. The magazine is only £2 and each nail polish is worth £11 so it would be rude not to pick up all the shades as you can get £44 worth of nail polish for just £8.

I am really looking forward to trying these polishes out. Did you pick up any of these polishes?
